Guest guest
Pardon me, that should read " elevated liver enzymes " . Comprehensive Metabolic Panel: Every thing normal except ALT/SGPT(U/L) which is 80 (Normal Range 25-65). Doc says this is elevated enzymes and needs to be watched. Is there a correlation with this and HypoT?
Guest guest
Ferritin is not in the regular CBC, that would have to be ordered separate and if you asked for it and she did not do it--well, it matches what I think of her below......and if she did not order the Free T3 as you asked for she did not overlook it....she is just another idiot....the high liver enzymes are no doubt from taking cholesterol lowering drug/drugs and should be watched carefully!!!!!....and your gut instinct is right....her raising the synthroid AGAIN and making you wait and then will THINK about giving you Armour is a RED FLAG in my book....sue in TN ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > OK I got my labs back. I agree that the cholesterol lowering drugs are responsible for the liver enzymes elevation...I missed the fact you were on those drugs...I am SO AGAINST those, I can't even begin to tell you...I brought my hubby's down from genetically high cholesterol and high triglycerides in the 400's in his 20's to 216 in his 50's by giving him Armour..of course, we did some other things nutritionally for several years...but my doct says that he is all for thryiong Armour on someone with high cholestrol if they have ANY other signs of hypo. Get a doc who will give you Armour..I agree!!
Guest guest
Maybe it's because I'm haveing to take the blood pressure and cholesterol medicine. Again, I hope to get off that when I get on the Armour. No - I don't believe there is a correlation with hypothyroidism, but I have seen it happen in people's bloodwork, either something they are taking orally is stressing their liver or the enzymes (meaning liver cells are dying) are inexplicably high and then go back down to normal....all can say is that it seems to happen and then disappear again. I have seen it more often with people on synthroid...maybe the liver doesn't deal with it as well as Armour?? Not sure. But I don't feel this slight elevation is something to be concerned about at this time.
Guest guest
My cholesterol was 234 and rising when I went on Armour. When I was at my peak 4 months later...my cholesterol was at perfect range...152. I can't remember all of my numbers..just the main one. The doc (my family doc..still needing to be a believer in ARmour 100%) was awe struck. I think that he wanted to explain it away because I lost all of the the 40 lbs. That isn't the only reason I dropped in cholesterol. The Armour did the most work. Hugs...Patti Re: Lab Results > Pardon me, that should read " elevated liver enzymes " . > > Comprehensive Metabolic Panel: > Every thing normal except ALT/SGPT(U/L) which is 80 (Normal Range > 25-65). The ironic thing is, once you treat the thryoid condition, often the blood pressure goes down just from that, and you don't need the blood pressure medicine. But in order for the Armour to work, you gotta go off blood pressure medication so it's a Catch 22... Gentle
Guest guest
Thanks for all the input on my labs. You guys are great! Does anyone have any comments on my thyroid antibiodies? It was 258 (lab range 0.5 to 55.0). I'm just wondering if this is moderately high or disastrously high? Thanks Debbie
Guest guest
I've known women to have their antibodies in the 2000. Guest guest
Hi, Patti, While taking Synthroid or Levoxyl, my Cholesterol and Triglycerides were nearly double the high end of the ranges. They both dropped to half within a month of starting Armour. Three months later, they were both within the normal range. Nothing else had been tried to lower them. ly, I admit to feeling so awful at the time that I really didn't care if a heart attack killed me. Guest guest
Just wanted to add that my Aunt was able to go completely off her blood pressure medicine when she got on the atkins diet and kept her carbs under 20 grams per day.....later she went off the diet and had to go back on her meds...also something I learned is that many many people that snore have high blood pressure..so something to think about. Guest guest
Hi, Gentle, The more I think about it, the more I am thinking that a TSH of " 0 " would be ideal.... Of course trying to get my doctor to let it get that low would be a problem.... Darned numbers! Dianne At 06:14 AM 2/5/04, you wrote: >Good for you, Dianne!
