Guest guest
Hey Sy- Dinner was great at Outback! I had dessert!! Yummmmmmmmm. The boys had plain burgers and the funny (haha) thing that happened was my mom cut up my 4 year old's with her salad (crouton) fork and knife! We had to send it back and get a new one (after little debate at our table from my mom and hubby). BUT--Outback didn't even charge us for the extra burger. Nice of them--don't ya think? Our waitress was very knowledgeable about what was not gf. She knew no seasoning on veggie and that kind of stuff. But we all got a chuckle when she brought the bread out for the 3 non-gfer's. " Here's the bread, " she said and then looked me in the eye and said, " You can't have the bread, it has gluten in it. " My hubby thought that was the funniest thing he ever heard. I told him I (later at home)don't care that she has no idea what gluten free means because at least she knows what is okay on the menu and what isn't. It was a fun night. And the Sox won!!! Thanks for letting me share with ones who understand! --- A Olsen wrote: > Have a great time .It feels so good to feel sorta > normal going out to eat Ali > > heather waters wrote:Thanks > for the warning too, Janet. Guest guest
, I don't think you realize how completely elated you sound in your message! It is great to hear someone so happy after eating out...usually we only hear the bad stuff. So, thanks for your message. You have given me hope and given me just a little more courage to try eating out soon with our son, who was just dx in June (he's almost 3 and the only CD in our family so far) Thanks! Guest guest
, Glad you had such a wonderful time. My husband and I (both celiac) celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at the Outback last March. First time we had tried to eat out in a sit down restaurant since being dx. We had a wonderful time and neither of us reacted. We felt so good when we left the restaurant we went to the movies. Before being dx, we would often plan dinner out and then a movie but we never made it to the movie!!! We would end up coming home, confused about why we always felt so lousy after eating out! Ha ha. Glad you had such a good experience. Thank goodness for the Outback! Cari RE: Dinner out tonight> > > > > Applebee's is DEFINITELY an "eat at your own> risk"> > place. Guest guest
Our waitress at the outback a couple of months ago did the same thing. I think that habit forces them to bring it to the table before they figure out what they have done. And yes we had a good chuckle too!
