Guest guest
Brandee, Sorry she feels so lousy. On the rare occasion that I have to give Tylenol to Katera, I crush the plain tablets and mix in a small amount of applesauce..... just enough so that I can get it all in one bite...... then immediately follow it with a few more bites of untainted applesauce. I don't know if she'll fall for this, but it works for us. There is also a suppository form of Tylenol that is an over-the-counter..... just ask the pharmacist. Patti ----- Original Message ----- Of course, the regular strength tylenol is so bitter it's hard for me to mask it's flavor in drinks, etc. anyone have any suggestions? Guest guest
I believe I read numerous things that sat Tylenol orohibits glutathione production, if anything I would look more toward Motrin. I beleive Motrin does have a ton of illegals in it tho.....there is a dye free, flavor free liquid Motrin, I think it may have some corn in it as well as others. Kind of picking the lesser of 2 evils???? Sorry I can't be of more help.. Karyn, Mom to 4.1, dx autism, SCD 1 week Hi All, Well, sorry to hop in here and " sob " for a minute but....Hannah has been really sick with a horrible cough and running nose, along with a low grade fever. Anyway, as if it could get any worse, she has PE tubes in her ears and last night she fell in the tub and got water in her ears. She creamed al night long as fluid oozed out of her poor little ear. I just spoke with the ENT and they said we will have to " clean it out " tomorrow then start on drops. They said to give her tylenol or ibuprofen for pain. I have read that tylenol is kind of a last resort, but if she is in terrible pain I have to give her something. Of course, the regular strength tylenol is so bitter it's hard for me to mask it's flavor in drinks, etc. anyone have any suggestions? I don't have any children's tylenol, but may have to go get some if she won't take this stuff? I'm assuming it's probably illegal w/ sugar or something...des anyone know or have any advice? Sorry to complain, I guess I just needed a friendly ear after the long night last night. Thanks! Brandee mom to hannah, 34 1/2 months, scd 4 months, vaccine injured P.S. by the way, before last night hit, Hannah's little vocbulary was really beginning to blossom. I don't want to have a set back by giving her something illegal! She is counting to 10, requesting many things using words...!!!! Guest guest
But, as Elaine says, Motrin (ubuprofen) is horrible on the gut...... so you can't win for losing, but Tylenol would actually be better in terms of SCD...... just not good for kids with autism for other reasons. Ok - that was supposed to say " states that Tylenol prohibits " - my fingers aren't as fast as my brain, and I have no idea what orohibits means. ;-) I would also like to know of any other persons that have had problems with thier kiddos limiting themselves to what they eat when they started the diet, and what they did to change this, or if they rode it out and thier little ones just decided they would try new things. DD is still stuck on eggs (Lord help the chickens!!!) However, I will say, she hadn't had a bm in about 3 days (very odd for her) so I gave her some magnesium to help them move, I didn't need to apparently - she had a fairly normal bm this am. Stank (not near as rank as they have been before), also - IT WAS FORMED!!!!! I will say that her breath is unusually awful tho....... I've tried everything, and have been continuously offering chicken pancakes, yogurt, applesauce, pear sauce, however she will have only " some eggs, yes, alright " ...she's too funny!!!!
