Guest guest
Hi , I am not aware of anything produced by the kidneys that could contribute to bruising. I am not a doctor though. Perhaps someone else has additional information?

Guest guest
I believe easy bruising can come the closer you get to end-stage renal failure, but has to be pretty close. It isn't a symptom of IgAN itself, as far as I know. I think it's due to problems with white cells and platelets. I can't say I've had any bruising problems particularly. Guest guest
Thinking of bruising, what about age? Isn't that a factor? I thought that the older you get, the easier it is to bruise. Guest guest
I have had Igan for many years now, and have never bruised easily. I would suspect it is a combination of many things, but that doesn't help much. :-( Hope she gets better soon.
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for asking! Right now at this particular time and place, I couldn't be doing better. My Neph doesn't want to see me for 6 months because I've been stable for the last 6 months or so. Even my blood pressure seems to have calmed down. How are you doing? A smile went across my face when I saw your name, I am hoping things are still good for you too. I think that you were the first one on this site that recognized my weird sense of humor and so I started teasing you right away! Keep in touch! LOL Connie bruising thanks for all the responses re bruising, I fit in with Billie I think it happened before meds. best wishes to all of you out there in Iganland W ps Hi Connie how are the numbers going lol? Guest guest
Hi Connie Glad to hear that the horse still has a home! As for me Cr has levelled out now but BUN climbed sharply and albumin is dropping so it seems something interesting is going on!! The thing that I find fascinating about this disease is that it seems that not one of the 600 odd connected with this site are the same and for all the new members it proves Pierres 'pearl of wisdom' that the only thing predictable about IgAN is its unpredictability which gives us all one thing....hope. (which incidentally is my daughters name!!) By the way well done on this moderator lark (all the others are great too!!) The gentleness, humour and compassion that you bring mean you are much loved. Thankyou W Ps I was suprised that you didn't leap to the fore to explain conversion factors lol!!!! bruising > > > thanks for all the responses re bruising, I fit in with Billie I think it > happened before meds. > best wishes to all of you out there in Iganland > W > ps Hi Connie how are the numbers going lol? > > >
Guest guest
I'm experiencing fatigue also, but I found out that I'm anemic too. My kidneys are functioning at only 15% and I thought it was just the ill effects of the failing kidneys. Ron > Hi all > the recent comments regarding bruising caught my eye, with me it seems the slightest knock leaves a mark now which it never used to. Do the sidneys (sic) produce anything that could make tissue damage easier, and what is the incidence of this amongst us? Is it another " fatigue " syndrome?? > W > > >
Guest guest
Hi everyone. Regarding bruising, a couple things come to mind. Number one, fish oils are associated with a reduction in coagulation. Secondly, according to my neph and a transplant surgeon I spoke to, most people with failing kidneys have a reduction in some of the clotting factors. As usual, I was the exception to the rule. Even though I was taking fish oils and coumadin, my blood clotted very quickly causing me to lose my goretex dialysis graft within hours. Also, while on dialysis, they had to give me a very large amount of heparin to keep my blood from clotting. Guest guest
Pierre, I can't believe I forgot about that. The good old Inuit study. LOL. Thanks for refreshing me failing memory.
