Hi all,

I'm a new member, funny this should be the first e-mail I get from the group. I had a celiac blood panel done by my doctor and only showed high on IgG no indication at all of IgA. Always willing to go outside the normal medical establishment I talked to my nutritionist and she recommended the Enterolab Gluten Sensitivity, malabsorption, and Milk sensitivity test (which I read about in "Going Against the Grain".) With Enterolab's test I showed reaction to IgA, have two copies of a gene that predisposes to gluten sensitivity (HLA-DQ1 involving the DQB1*0501 subtype), and am casein reactive. I was very happy to get all of this done in one test and not have to go through the normal stress of getting a doctor to agree to my requests. There was a special at Enterolab which included the milk sensitivity....I would recommend that you go the extra mile and get that done also since it seems to go hand in hand with celiac disease. I am improved since I moved to the celiac diet and have also cut out casein/milk products. I think that my improvement is also due to my extremely knowledgeable nutitionist...she does not specifically work celiac issue but is by far the most knowledgeable nutritionist I have met.

I and my 4 children were gluten sensitive, as were my parents. Two of my children had malabsorption. Carolyn

Enterolab

Just curious if anyone had a positive gluten sensitivity or malabsorption test through Enterolab. I think I remember Joanne did…….anyone else??

Yes I had both test done through Enterolab and both came back positive. My 8 yr

old daughter also tested positive for gluten sensitivity and we both have

improved on the GF diet!

My gluten sensitivity and tTG were positive, my malabsorption was

negative.

My husband was positive for all three.

My daughter was positive for gluten sensitivity and malabsorption, but

we didn't get her tested for tTG.

My three children and I all tested positive for gluten sensitivity with

Enterolab. Only one of us was borderline positive on the malabsorbtion

test (his was 272 and over 300 is positive). The rest of us were

negative for malabsorbtion (54, 55, 148).

God bless,
