Guest guest
Honey is legal....... some parents have found that their kids can't tolerate it. If yours is doing fine with it, don't worry. Patti honey question I have seen alot of people posting about limiting honey recently. My son has been on the diet 10 days now and we drizzle honey over his sneaky pancakes everyday. I thought honey was ok on this diet. Does it feed yeast? IF so am I doing the diet in vain by feeding the gut bugs with the honey? I am confused. Should I go back to the intro diet and do it without honey? Guest guest
For folks that don't do honey, what symptoms did your child exhibit that indicated an intolerance to honey? How soon did the " honey intolerant " subside after you removed honey from the diet? Re: honey question Honey is legal....... some parents have found that their kids can't tolerate it. Guest guest
I already knew Luke could not tolerate honey because he doesn't tolerate any high salicylate foods. It's not a digestion thing with him (though it is a SYMPTOM of " leaky gut " ) they don't give him diarrhea or anything. But his behavior goes wild on them. I'm hoping a good amount of time of SCD will sure up that leaky gut and allow him to have those foods again. in NC Mom of Luke, age 5, Asperger's/salicylate intolerant/diarrhea pre-SCD; , age 3, healthy; and , 19 mos, healthy All SCD since 1/26/04 honey question I have seen alot of people posting about limiting honey recently. Guest guest
We used honey on sneaky pancakes and in gelatin (half what it calls for) from day 1. Adam's yeast metabolites in his OAT are way down at two months into sCD, vs. pre-SCD (not gone, but way down). I think you need to be careful, not drown in honey, but a drizzle should be OK. If in a couple more weeks you don't think you are getting the results you hoped for, and everything is 100% legal, THEN in my opinion, you may want to take out honey and maybe fruit for a week as a trial. -- Sue, mom to Adam and SCD 4 months -- In pecanbread , " Denny & Alan Rush " <dna4ever@c...> wrote: > I have seen alot of people posting about limiting honey recently.
