Guest guest
Hi , I'm sorry your dating efforts are so frustrating. Having been married over two decades, I am afraid I can't offer any specific advise, but perhaps giving the guy a chance to get to know you first and really seeing if there is a chance the relationship could get serious before disclosing too much??? Maybe other single members can offer better advise.

Guest guest
when I met my wife, she had just lost her previous husband to motor neurone disease, I told her when we met that I had nephritis. Her doctor told her top find out which flavour, when told it was IGAN, he told her it was probably going to be ok. We've been very happily married for errrm six years and we've got a son. If they're that shallow that they're put off by someone who might be ill someday then you're better off with someone else. On the other hand a friend of mine had a blissful marriage to a perfectly healthy fanstastic woman, until some git ploughed into her in a car and killed her. you just don't know when your time will come :-|

Guest guest
Hi Mark, It is true that our health constraints with IgAN do have an impact on our spouses. We do need to be sensitive to that. I know my husband often misses out on things because I am too tired so he stays home with me. Thank goodness I have been blessed with a very understanding husband! Guest guest
The main reaction I get from guys is " Wow, you have a lot of health problems for someone so young!! " (as I have several other health problems besides the IgAN). Matt (my boyfriend) has been fantastic, though, which I really appreciate. I think he just gets worried when I say that I'm not feeling 100%, as he tends to watch me like a hawk when I say that!! LOL. --- jamiedleet wrote: > This is going to sound a little bit out there, but > does anyone have > problems in the dating area as I do? Guest guest
Hi , Please don't feel bad at all. You were asking about a legitimate topic as it relates to IgAN. We have a terrific group here, so let's don't let this distract any of us from the real reason we are here which is to support, inform and encourage one another. Please let us all avoid bringing any negative comments about any one person into the group. In a family as large as this, there are bound to be personalities or comments that rub another the wrong way, but lets just keep those feelings and comments to ourselves and move on. Thank you,

You all know we don't rigidly enforce subject matter on this group. However, at this juncture, some of you are misinterpreting who said what to whom and why. I'm asking for your cooperation in just dropping this thread. I think the original question has been answered. Thanks. Pierre
