There is a great journaling website www.journaltosucess.com and it's free.

They have a food journal, activity journal and a weight journal and they all

work together.

-- Mitvch question

Can you use a PDA program on a regular, full-sized computer?

I just tried to set up a Works program for my journaling and had a heck of a

time figuring out how to do the formula, and didn't do a terrific job.

I need to get my hiney back on track...and y'all need to be kicking it a

whole lot harder. Tony can't e-mail us anymore, God bless him.

Diane,

Try this formula in your Works spreadsheet:

=(B4/50+B6/12) -(IF(B5>0,MIN(B5,4),0))/5

(NOTE: in this formula, B4=calories, B5=Fiber, and B6=Fat)

I can't remember where I found this formula, but it's set up so

that you can put any number you want in B5, but it will only count

up to 4 g.

I'm a paper-planner gal trying to migrate to a PocketPC which I

already own. In my paper planner, I use homemade journal

sheets instead of the weight watchers forms, because I

extensively track my workouts and food on the same 4-paneled

page. I'm looking for the perfect workout/nutrition tracker for

PocketPC, but have yet to find it. So when my paper planner runs

out at the end of June, I'm probably going to be using Excel

worksheets on my PocketPC to track everything.

Okay I tried this formula, but it wouldn't compute everything past the

zero,comma....But thanks for trying. I think that IF part is right, I just

gotta figure out how to correctly calculate this.

This worked for me just now.

I opened Excel and entered data in cell B4 (110), B5 (4) and B6 (2) for

calories, fiber and fat. In cell B7, I pasted the formula (including the

equal sign). The number returned is 1.5666667. I changed the fiber in cell

B5 to 7 and the value in B7 (points) stayed the same, which it should.

Yeah, but I'm not working with Excel, I'm doing MS Word. Maybe that's the

problem.

Okay.... I just created a table in Word... Entered data in what would be the

equivalent of cells B4, B5 and B6. I clicked on Tables > Formula and

entered the formula. This worked for me. Now one thing to point out is

that the formula in the email had an extra space, which could pose a

problem. Try entering the formula below that has the extra space taken out.

=(B4/50+B6/12)-(IF(B5>0,MIN(B5,4),0))/5

I'm sorry, I misunderstood...I thought you said MS Works, not

Word.

The formula needs to be in a spreadsheet, like Excel or the

Works spreadsheet. It won't work in Word (unless it's part of an

imported spreadsheet. I think).

No, sorry - this one's for the PDA only ....
