Guest guest
It looks like for the first time I am having to file a complaint against an insurance company. I'm not sure how to do that, so I left a message with the MT State Auditor's Office in the hopes that they can help me. In the meantime, I thought I'd ask here if there are any guidelines that I can look up somewhere. We have a patient whose insurance is PEBP, which is contracted through Beech Street. We have been a provider for Beech Street for several years. A couple of years ago we terminated our participation in just one of their products (Memberworks). Even though they list us as a participating provider on their website, and I confirmed membership with them before treatment was started, they process our claims as out-of-network, which means the patient would be responsible for 50% instead of 20%. I have called numerous times and they keep telling me someone will get back to me, which they don't. In the meantime, this patient has stopped treatment because she is afraid that she will get stuck with the bill. Is there anything else I can do other than putting in a complaint with the commissioner of insurance? Thanks for any suggestions.
