Guest guest
Welcome Kelli. I had some false starts too. This time I around I pledged to analyze every time I went off program to figure out why and to figure out what I can do to avoid the same mistake. It's made a huge difference. Now a slip is just a slip and not a derailment. I've been going strong for ten weeks and have lost 10.5 pounds. Previously I always quit after about a month. Something just clicked this time. So, forget the past and focus on the future. Debbie Y
Guest guest
Hi Kelli! This is a quote someone posted here a month or so ago. (Basically, I thought of it when I read what Debbie wrote.) I have this on my WW page, but I can¹t remember the URL!! (Egad! Is my memory THAT bad? Yeah, plus I just created it on Sunday.) Though no one can go back and make a brand new beginning, anyone can start now to make a brand new ending. My advice also is to NOT compare your weight loss with anyone else¹s. Just because person X steadily loses two pounds a week.. Doesn¹t mean YOU are a failure if you lose only one pound a week, half a pound a week or even gain every other week. My commitment to myself was that I would go to the weekly meetings NO MATTER WHAT. I have to own up to everything that I do. Skipping a weekly meeting won¹t make it go away. (And I am the only one putting the food in my mouth.) on 3/31/03 8:10 PM, Debbie Y at debbiey@... wrote: > > I had some false starts too. Guest guest
Welcome Kelli! Try not to look at it as 100 lbs to lose. Definately set some smaller goals. When I started last July I was looking at 80 lbs to lose. It was very overwhelming. However I have successfully lost 60 lbs and I am still very motivated. There have definately been times where I have lost some enthusiasm but I really want this, and I deserve to be healthy! 240.5/180/165 jktas1234 wrote: > I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. Guest guest
That is exactly how my goals are set up now that I am enjoying onederland! I was thrilled to hit the 180's, think I got a little too excited when I hit the 170's and gained last week. So now I am at 180, but hope to reach the 70's again this week! 240.5/180/165 FlyKaity@... wrote: > In a message dated 4/1/2003 6:12:52 PM Eastern Standard Time, > jennifer.boucher@... writes: > > > Try not to look at it as 100 lbs to lose. Guest guest
I also set many " mini " goals. For example I started at 286.5 so I mark each 5 lbs as well as each " decade " . So I actually have 3 goals for every 10 lbs gone. Guest guest
If I could tell you what my hubby and I do. At each 5 pound goal, we celebrate. Not with food but some little something. My last goal, I treated myself to the book that I wanted. We are trying to get out of the mind set of using food as a way to celebrate. Its been fun trying to figure out different ways to celebrate. We both know that this is a lifetime journey. Not a quick fix. dot " Charlie.. " wrote: > I also set many " mini " goals. Guest guest
I do that too. A lot of the time I get myself a manicure. (When it is a big goal, I add in a pedicure). I have even gotten myself flowers etc. to celebrate accomplishing little goals along the way. Guest guest
Welcome, Kelli.. I had over 100 pounds to lose so I know how impossible it might seem at first. I'm 26, married, no kids yet, but I really want to start a family someday soon. I told hubby with my luck I'll get to goal and then get pregnant and gain a bunch of weight back again.. lol. Anyway.. hang in there and I hope you enjoy the list as much as I do.. ~ O~ 272/230.8/172 On WW since 01/08/02 introduction I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kelli, I'm 40, married with 2 kids and about 100 lbs to lose. I am starting back on Weight Watchers for I swear, the 10th time in the last year and a half. I have to make this the time that I stick with it! I desperately need to lose this weight for my health and also, I can't gain anymore or I won't be able to buy clothes in a store any more...I wear a 26 and they don't go any bigger than that...so I've decided I MUST get serious and do this! I need support, so that's why I'm here. Thanks for listening and I hope to become an active member of your group! (sorry for cross posting, I have joined a few lists and for time constraints am sending the same info to all, but won't do this after today!) I look forward to " getting to know you all " ! Guest guest
, Thanks for the ideas. I love the idea of giving myself flowers. dot Mccarthy wrote: > I do that too.
