Hi . Welcome to the group and congrats on your new journey with

Armour--a far superior med than T4 alone.

I am curious--what was your estrogen level that caused the doc to

suggest you needed more?

Also, just in case, be sure and get your FREE T3 and FREE T3 instead

of just T3 and T4. I couldn't tell by your wording below if that's

what you had. But GOOD for you for getting that T3 done, even if it

wasn't the free.

If you use labs as a guide, your goal is to get your free T3 towards

the top of the range. Doing this can cause your TSH to become quite

low---less than one. But it's OK and you will not be hyper as docs

seem to worry about.

Check out the FILES on this site and read, read! You'll be far more

informed than most docs...and that will make you your own best

advocate for good treatment.

help and going through several Drs., I've been diagnosed with

hypothyroidism by my Internist. Even though my adrenal tests came

back low, they were dismissed - " you need more estrogen " was the

response. I had to almost beg for the tests (TSH, T3 and T4).

Interestingly, TSH was 'normal' but T3 was borderline. I've just

started with Armour thyroid and already feel a difference.

hi hun, Yes I truly believe you have peaked for now and need to increase asap.

Whenever a person feels symptoms coming back, it is time to increase. You are

on what I consider a low dose. Most women that I work with don't even begin to

feel 100% and STAY that way unti they hit at the very least 180...and it is

usually 240 before they say...hey I am levelling out!!

You could increase 60 mgs and do just fine. Sometimes it is best just to

medicate yourself...increase on your own. Explain to the doc later that you did

that, and you feel wonderful. If he continues to ask you how you are feeling,

and go by your symptoms...then you are doing good. But most docs want to see

the bloodwork, and go strictly by those levels. I sure hope yours doesnt.

But yes, please increase...and you can increase by at least 30mgs...60 is

better.

Hugs...pattisue...

Ps...who is this doc that is letting you have armour and where is he located??

That makes at least three of us. I'm in the same boat. Two more weeks

to go before I can get new labs. I'm trying really hard to be patient

with this doc though as she is new to Armour. I'm hoping if she sees

success with me, she'll be open to prescribing Armour to others.

However, I'm thinking of ordering some extra from MyRXForless to have on

hand just in case we reach a point where she reads the labs and ignores

me.

Blessings,

Debbie K.

Boy Janet, I am feeling the same. I now have to wait 4 more weeks to

get labs, yet I know the levoxyl dosage is too low. It worked for

about 5 days (with the exception of horrible insomnia that I am STILL

battling) but I am sliding backwards and I need to be better. We

Patti Sue,

I thought you were supposed to increase by only a quarter grain every

four to six weeks and that 60mg is one grain. When is it ok to increase

by 60mg and when do you only increase 15mg?

Thanks

Debbie
