Kallie,

I believe that Tums have 2.5-10 calories per tablet not points. The amount

of calories varies with the type of tums. The list is here:

http://www.tums.com/faqs_packaging.asp

Charlie (not all ladies here)

Thanks for Info Beth/Tory

Hi ladies, I certainly do agree with you on the medications, and I

take my vitamins and calcium every day without thinking about points

here. But if the tums are as high as someone else tried to figure

out, like 2.5 points ea. they would certainly play havoc if not

counted, wouldn't you think, especially if someone was taking a few

ea. day.{ I plan on trying to find info on this somewhere } So for

me, I have to disagree with you and count them, but this is my

opinion for myself. I guess we all know, how we have to work the

program. I haven't been on WW that long and everyday I learn more

about myself and what hinders me etc. So great to be able to get the

input from so many people, whether we agree or not, we still

benefit. Thanks for responding, and have a great wk.~~Kallie~

Kallie, the highest calorie count there is in Tums is 10 calories

(and that's the BIG 500 milligram sized tablet). You would have to

eat 12 of them to get 2.5 points out of them. I don't know who

figured them out to be 2.5 points a piece, but that's totally wrong.

SO, I stand by my opinion. Unless I would plan to eat 10-12 of the

BIG ones every day day, I really wouldn't worry about counting

them. :)

Oh, and it was quite simple to find this information. Just type in

the words " Tums " and " calories " into a search engine! :)

Well, unfortunately the info on the Tums page says per tablet. But

still, 12 tums at 2.5 points is a lot to take on a regular basis. As

Lynne said, if this is the case then maybe a doctor should be

contacted!

Oh, maybe it¹s different with the different ³types² of Tums. Mine is the

Tums EX brand (resides in my desk drawer here at work). Serving size: 2

Tablets and then nutrition stuff is ³amount per serving²... 10 calories, 600

mg calcium, etc. One time I had checked the nutrition and I could have

sworn that I read that the SODIUM was 600 mg. Zoinks! Was I ever glad to

double-check because the sodium is only 5 mg.!!! The only kind I like are

the fruit flavored ones. My mom always stocks the minty or regular ones.

Blech! Just the taste of those makes me want to be sick. :)

I prefer the Walmart brand Wild Berry ones myself! lol We stock up

on them every time we get back to the states! :)

The 10 cal per tablet is for the big boys. The 500 mg tablets.

Here's the link if anyone's interested:

I imagine that must have been quite a shock to think they had 600mg

of sodium! You'd need to drink two extra gallons of water to offset

that! hahahaha

Kallie -- they're 2.5 **calories**, not 2.5 *Points*!!! 2.5 calories is

practically nothing -- 1 Point is about **50 calories**!!

I think they were saying 2.5 CALORIES each, not points. It isn't

possible that they would be over 100 calories for one Tums.
