Guest guest
We just relocated to Indiana from Virginia. My 5 yr. old son is in kindergarten. It is a mainstream class and there are 25 kids in there. Other than not wanting to get on the bus the first day, we really haven't had any issues. His teacher say she is " polite and always full of smiles. " But I am afraid he will not get the attention he needs in a class with so many kids. I am pushing for an IEP meeting, which should be set up soon (since he had an IEP in VA). I am wondering what I should be asking for. He has a speech delay and tends to be very prompt dependent. He is academically on track, but still has fine motor issues. Since he is so passive, I just don't want him to get overlooked. They do NOT have collaborative classes here, which is so different to me. I feel like he might get lost in a sea of kids! Should I ask for an aide??? I feel like I should be doing more.
