Guest guest
Hi , I know what you are saying is true about the reflection period but I have been sussing this out for about the last 8 weeks on the net trying to learn all there is to learn and have thought about it but not actively persued it for a lot longer, I DON'T see this as a quick fix at all! I just want6 the process underway! I want to begin my new life soon! and it feels like I have waited long enough! I would only ever use this band as a tool rather than think it does it all on it's own! I have done research and spoke to a number of people both here and overseas about this and am just disheartened about it all not falling into place like I thought that it might! lee >From: ShzJssp@... >Reply-To: ozbandegroups >To: ozbandegroups >Subject: Lee Re: Waiting Pre-Op >Date: Thu, 04 Jan 2001 07:01:03 -0000 > >Lee, > >It's also worth highlighting that the lapband is not a quick fix. >Unfortunately, as all bandster discover, there is no miracle. Guest guest
It is falling into place - only it's going to happen in June or July and not next week. If I were you, I would find a surgeon that you like and book the operation for June/July and then start marking the days off the calendar. I had to do that for my tummy tuck - only it was 12 months for me to wait. We all have to wait for things - life is not about instant gratification all the time. Guest guest
Hi Lee, I had the band surgery on 2/7/97. Had decided on Australia Day 1997 and waited six months to fit in with my work schedule. Was a real biggie (167kgs and steadily climbing), a real oldie (50s) and a real failure at dieting for 40 years). So once I found out about the band and realised this was the only thing that was going to work for me, saw the doctors, did all the necessaries, and then waited around for five months. But it was amazing the change in me from the minute of decision, the family still talk about the way I began to stand up straight and move decisively, smile, get positive and eat out in public - something I had never done in my whole life- even to not eating during the day at work. So what I am saying in my long-winded way is make your decision, prepare yourself and start living as you mean to go on - It worked for me, without any conscious effort - it just all fell into place. Another positive is having the OZbanders behind you all the way. I only discovered this wonderful group last Jly, three years down the track and wish I had their support from the beginning. For me, it has been a really slow process with only 74 kgs lost over the past 3.5 years and basically nothing over the past six months but it works - I have great hopes to remove the last 20 kgs or so in the next six months. I've learned a lot about patience. Cheers Dianne ---------- > > To: ozbandegroups > Subject: Re: Lee Re: Waiting Pre-Op > Date: Thursday, 4 January 2001 18:29 > > Hi , I know what you are saying is true about the reflection period but > I have been sussing this out for about the last 8 weeks on the net trying to > learn all there is to learn and have thought about it but not actively > persued it for a lot longer, I DON'T see this as a quick fix at all! Guest guest
Hi Honey, Thanks a lot - The mind boggles when you actually think of it that way, rather than a figure on a scale doesn't it? Still having problems eating after the last fluid top up but looking forward to getting on the scales again at Trudy's this Friday. Surely I will have shifted some weight by then - Where to, I'm not sure! As long as it is off the scales and not hiding under them ready to pop out at the slightest infringement, I'll be happy. See you Saturday, Dianne ---------- > > To: ozbandegroups > Subject: RE: Lee Re: Waiting Pre-Op > Date: Saturday, 6 January 2001 22:25 > Dianne, 74kg is my and Meghan put together, do you think you could carry them around all day(Dianne has met them both)? You are great. Jo
