Guest guest
I am inquiring about experiences with local health clubs having their personal trainers go through and acquire the " Post Rehab Conditioning Specialist Certification " . We have a few personal trainers in our area who are looking to do observation hours at our clinics, however I am very skeptical of this entire process. According to the Website these the training is entirely DVD based and sessions are being billed and reimbursed by several insurance companies. This rings of non-rehab trained personal acting as fully trained and licensed rehab professionals. I am all for a " bridge " program to get patients from formal rehab into a health club/fitness setting properly such as the MOG (Medically Oriented Gym). In this model the Therapist monitors, reports to physician, and sets training plans for the non-rehab patient (either post discharge rehab patient or the non-rehab but medically compromised patient). Thoughts? Jeff Brown PT Director of Rehabilitation Decatur Memorial Hospital Decatur, Illinois
