What do yeast symptoms look like on Valtrex?

Hi -

My child has been on Valtrex for about 25 days. I noticed he's had about 10 little red bumps on his behind and he's a little red down below. Is this what yeast looks like?

Behavior wise... he's into EVERYTHING!! And not listening or following directions. Don't know if it's age appropriate behavior or not (He's 3 years old.) He's always like this, but it seems more exagerated lately.

Are these things related to Valtrex and/or yeast?

Someone else on here just asked this same question, but WHY would Valtrex kick-up yeast if it's an anti-viral?? They seem unrelated.

Also - I should mention that he had a blood-draw lab test for yeast and it was negative before we started the Valtrex last month.

Is there a better test to check for yeast rather than blood?

Thanks!SP

Within the first 50 days on Valtrex, we saw exactly what Stan Kurtz described- any autistic traits your child had before were still there, but "with the volume turned up".  The magic number of fifty really seems accurate, after fifty days we no longer see the negative side effects of Valtrex and are only seeing the positive ones.  We have stayed on anti-fungals the entire time and I've tested to make sure negative behaviors we saw once starting Valtrex were not yeast and they were not- all side effects of whatever die off the Valtrex caused.  I know I seem to give this same reply often, but every time I was nervous I'd go back to Stan's Comprehensive AntiViral Approach and it reminded me to stay the course for 50 days b/c this was all to be expected: http://www.talkaboutcuringautism.org/medical/comprehensive-anti-viral-autism.htm.  In the past when my son had yeast flare ups, these were the signs: increased verbal stimming, in la la land, squeezing and biting on things, wetting the bed.  In the first fifty days of Valtrex the negatives were: all sensory issues more pronounced, LOTS of tears (which we have never had in the past), less flexibility.  Hang in there- you are halfway there and it was a roller coaster I swear until day 48.....Colleen Holden & Dupuy Interiorscolleendesigns@...6648 Millstone Avenue  Baton Rouge, LA 70808Tel: Cell: 225..253.1428
