Guest guest
, I don't have any experience with this but my opinion is... that it is a great idea! You will provide a service to these people that will be very convenient to them. It may be an incentive for someone who might not otherwise get the therapy they need because it is too difficult for them to go to an outpatient clinic elsewhere. You could positively affect the overall health/wellness of the residents in that community just by having this available to them, as you will surely be doing some marketing to them with " prevention " talks, lunches, brochures, screenings, etc. This increased awareness of how PT can help them, combined with the proximity of your clinic to the folks, could have a great impact on their recoveries. Think of all the patients we have seen that finished a course of HH but then had no ride to an outpatient clinic, or gas costs were too high, etc. etc. I wish you all the best, Sherri Welch, PT swelch@... This is another attempt to get your input! I'm in the process of opening an outpatient clinic in a senior living community that has independent and assistive living. I'm renting an apartment in the independent side. There are several home health agencies visiting patients in this facility that are getting contract services with me. I can say that the real " outpatients " will be the one that are not homebound or the one DC by home health agencies that require more therapy services. Most of my caseload will be patients from home health agencies that we see in their apartments or will be transport by their caregiver/aid to the therapy clinic. Please share with me your experiences-opinions about this matter. Thank you in advance!! Neira, PT ruben@...
