Guest guest
Hi all, Esther Well you are a mystery aren't you. Hope all goes well and they find out what is causing you the problems. The test you described sounds like a gastroscopy. Where they put a tube with a camera on the end down your throat. I have heard of some having it done with and without aneasthetic. It was lovely to see you again on Wednesday. Everyone in the group is enjoyable company. Randall, Hope your performances have been smashing ! Would like to hear and see your talents someday. Bruce Welcome or should I say WELCOME. Sounds like you are as witty as Randall. Some interesting writing. Sorry I don't have recipies, gave up cooking when I started the career thing (after the kids went to high school) and that was ...a long time ago anyway.! Favourite foods would be " baked beans " (canned) and for dessert " rice cream " (canned) or " atlantic salmon " (grilled) with softly cooked vegetables. (luv my vegies) Potatoes, pumkin, sweet potato, brocolli (this sounds boring) but then I add a cheese sauce (not so good). And I luv " popcorn " . (that's my snack) Cathie Thanks. I luv risotto. Have never cooked it but now I will have a go.!! If I can help along the way I will. Karlene And if I can find the time I will definately try the Fish Fillets with parmesan Lemon Crumb Crust. I would love your recipe for " lamb shanks " . It's my DH favourite and if it's cooked moistly then it would be easily eaten by banders. Looking forward to it. Will catch up with everyone else soon. My eyeballs are really hanging out of their sockets and it's not a pretty sight, believe me. I am so thrilled I have no slippage. There is a God who loves me. cheers Gail (Stormy) Height: 172 cm (5' 8 " ) Weight then: 136 kg (300 lbs) Weight now: 99 kg (218 lbs) Total lost: 37 kg (81.4 lbs.) Guest guest
Hi Kay, I've had them before, a long time ago, and I lost around 30kgs on them, but ofcourse I put it all back on again. I didn't have any trouble with sleeping then, hopefully it will be the same this time. I've also tried Duromine which I believe is a similar drug and I didn't sleep for 3 days after one tablet..........that was horrible, ditched them straight away. She's only prescribed me 2 months worth just to cover my until my op..............well that's the plan anyway!! ) " Kay Ben-M'Rad " on 11/10/2000 09:54:17 Please respond to ozbandegroups To: ozbandegroups cc: (bcc: Bosman/Rainsfords/Britax) Subject: RE: Update I haven't got an opinion on it really but you do realise the tenuate dospan is speed with time release beads. Guest guest
Hi there I have taken Tenuate Dospan on and off for years (before I was banded) and they will supress your appetite a little. You can loose about 4 kilos in the first week on them and thereafter about 1/2 to 1 per week. Be careful though as sometiems at night it is hard to get to sleep as they send you buzzing. good luck - dont worry about the weight gain - it wil all come off once you are banded hally ---------- > From: diana.bosman@... > To: ozbandegroups > Subject: Re: Update > Date: Wednesday, October 11, 2000 6:10 AM > > > > Well done Lindy *hug & congrats*!!! > > I went to the Doctors last night (unrelated to the band) and she got me to hop > on the scales much to my disgust ofcourse.....surprise surprise (not)......I've > gone from 107kg last time I weighed in to 112kg......aaaahhhhhhh, I almost fell > off the scales!!! > > Anyway to cut a long story short, I was horrified, so she prescribed me some > appetite suppressants (Tenuate Dospan) to try and stop me gaining any more > before my op in December. Guest guest
, I must have put on about 3 stone waiting for my 12 months to be up!!!! But in the long run, it didn't make much difference.....but it is very distressing with the weight going up and up. I just didn't weigh myself at all in those 12 months, just painted all the mirrors in the house black....ha ha ha!! Now the black paint has come off!!!!!!! Guest guest
Steve, It's great to hear from you again. I'm thrilled to hear that you are recovering so well. How high is the dose of prednisone you are on. I hate that demon drug. Don't look forward to being on that again. Nothing new on the SSD front here. My daughter passed her nursing board exams with flying colors (I never doubted she would). Cheryl ID, 44, PSC, UC, fibromyalgia Well, progress continues to be excellent. My most significant problem right now is the “buzz” I get from the prednisone I’m still on. Sure hope they start THAT taper soon! Steve Rahn L Tx 9/6 & 9/8 '85. (Wash.
