Guest guest
Our clinic is attempting to develop an incontinence program at the request of several local OB/GYN's. Anyone that could offer information and/or advice about a program that they have found to be satisfactory would be greatly appreciated. Some of the items/ questions I have considered or encountered this far are the following: 1) What are the acceptable codes for appropriate diagnoses as well as the typical codes used in treatment (neuromuscular re-education???) 2) Any issues with gender interaction, (I'm the only PT, and am male and have 2 female PTA's in our clinic)...how does this factor into my evaluation and the avoidance of uncomfortable situations? Guest guest
Hi.. just an FYI. My practice is in Illinois and I use to provide pelvic floor/ UI program. Unfortunately, in Illinois, Wisconsin Physician Services/ Medicare Intermediary only pay Electrical Stimulation for treatment and I could not charge any other codes except E-Stim. No Biofeedback, no manual therapy, no therapeutic exercises! This is insane! Unfortunately, I had to discontinue this program in my facility. Rhoda Astronomo, PT President R.A. Guest guest
Rhoda, I'm not sure I understand. Which diagnosis codes were they referring to? Pelvic Floor Muscle weakness should fall under the regular Muscle Weakness ICD 9 codes. I can't understand why Medicare would not pay for therapeutic exercise for this??
