Thanks to all of you for your welcome!!Well, my boyfriend does use the internet but doesn't speak english at all...I allways tell him whatever experiences I read from you.The weather in my country is pretty warm (around 28-30ºC, maybe about 80-85ºF), but I guess we all are used to this. Mainly what affects my boyfriend relapses are stress detonations...Here in my country I've only met about 2 or three people with MS, one with pretty bad MS...See you around!!----- Mensaje original ----De: MS-Bill

Hi welcome does your boyfriend also make use of the internet? It is always nice to meet others that don't live here in the USA. Let him know we would like to get to know him better. I was wondering do you see a lot of people in your country with MS? What is the weather like where you are? I live in Indiana with my wife Judy and we have both very cold weather and warm summers. Right now it is very warm in Indiana. The heat messes with my MS which I hate because I love warm weather. I do well in the winter. I have had my MS now since Aug of 99.

Welcome to the group I rarely get out so I use this group as a good way to still socialize with people. Let your boyfriend he should fell fine writing the group.

Bill

¡Hola a todos! - Hi Everybody!

I have been away for a while, so I guess I must introduce myself forall of the new members and for those old members that probably forgotabout me since I've been away.My name is and I'm from El Salvador, a teeny tiny countryfrom Central America, I'm a Chemical Engineer 26 years old and I'mstudying for my MBA. My boyfriend has MS, his name is Rolando, he's 30years old and was diagnosed when he was about 23. I wasn't there for his first episode (I've been with him for 4 yearsnow) but I've heard it was a really bad experience: One day he woke upand his left arm stayed in bed! (total numbness), it developed to bothleg numbness so bad he wasn't able to walk and could hardly stand. Hewent to the hospital and they took him in there for 2 weeks and madeall kinds of tests and found out nothing. His former boss (a very richman in our country who turned out to have brain cancer and die) helpedhim and took him to his neuro, the neuro did some new tests (evoked,MRI...) and finally diagnosed him with MS. After that, he went torecovery (about 2 years) and gradually he was able to walk with a caneand now he plays soccer as nothing happened, the only sequel he has islost of sensation on his left arm, but the arm is strong and functional. He says that since he's been with me, he feels better; I'd like tothink so!!! But I guess he has some kind of stress related reactions. His first episode happened during some serious family troubles. He hadsome other troubles a couple of years ago finding a job (moneyproblems and stuff) and then he had an episode; he needed the cane'cause he lost his left leg strength. After he got his current job,he's been ok.After that first episode he's been having terrible headaches everyonce in a while. He's neuro prescribed some meds and supplements forthis...the names I don't remember...but basically there were somevitamins and strong pain killers.Well, that's probably it about me...Sorry for my English and grammarproblems!!! I've only studied English in local schools. I've been inthe States before, but only for a few days so I guess it wasn't muchof an English speaking practice! Thanks for reading this!! Posted a couple of pics in the photos section!!Blessings to all

There are a couple of people in this group who are fluent in spanish. In fact I'm embarrassed I ever opened my mouth with my 2 year old, spanish talk.

I'm sure it's funny for some, but annoying for others. My son speaks it fluently. He knows what I'm saying. But you know, if there are more than 3 words in the sentence, my spanish is very broken and not at all proper.

I have a couple of friends from El Salvador. My son's father is from Mexico. I do know enough spanish to know that there is a little difference. Some words are different. In any event, between you and the others in the group, I'm sure your husband would get a pretty good understanding.

It's hot here also. Is it very humid there? The humidity is a killer for MSers combined with the heat.

God bless you...Val
