Is it just ME, or is nearly everything that comes via snail mail is a bill these days! Geez! My husband is owed over $6000 by about 3 different employers--none of THAT is coming through the mail yet! We are supposed to go on vacation too! At least we stay with Lloyd's folks--so there is no hotel costs. But the cost of gas alone, on a 750 mile trip--that is just one way--then there's the water park, the amusement park, and the other costly things the kids love to do! I think this year we will have to explain that with the cost of gas, we might have to trim back on the mini-golf excursions. When ya have 5 kids, and then a couple of them are considered adults now--so you don't get the lower kids rate! lol! We'll have to stick to the beach--which I can't stand when the kids like to go--between 10 and 2--its when the sun's the hottest--ugh! There are 2 pools in my in-laws community. One is outside, one has a roof over it. I much prefer the one with the roof--but the kids like the outside one! Since it's open til 10 pm at night--I try to make deals with them, that I'll go to the outdoor one after the sun sets! lol! My daughter will be celebrating her 19th b-day down there, and I'll be 'watching' my 48th! not sure that's one to celebrate or not! lol! so close to 50--that 1/2 century mark! sorry, I have a case of the 'babbles' today. Inside my head I feel middle aged but then when I start walking or moving around--then I feel a lot older. But age is like death and taxes--you can't do anything about it so you might as well accept it. This 56th birthday was celebrated. Each birthday should be celebrated! Which day is your birthday? I don't think or know if I'm on the reminder thingy..Can't say I know how to do that anyway! My dtr, Kara's is the 12th of July. She being my first..well, heck, all my kids were late--Kara was supposed to be born on the 4th of July--but think she was a bit comfy in there! I was happy she wasn't born on my b-day--I wanted her to have her very own birthday! Lloyd hollers. That is him. He will get to the point of almost having a stroke--veins popping out,,face-red. His mother will tell him off. Right now, my 13 yr old son is VERY angry with me (and his dad). We didn't allow him to go with his best friend to--of all places--Las Vegas. It turns out, that the mom, who is divorced--we are good friends with her ex--she is putting her 2 girls in sleep away camp, and has her 14 yr old son. SO--she proposed that she take Luke along with her and her son, Dylan--all expenses paid! My husband was suspicious of this 'arrangement'. So--following HIS direction--I called her (some weeks ago) to find out if her 'boyfriend' was going along. Yes. Apparently, this was kind of a 'set-up'--she was in a sense, 'using' our son, to 'stay with' and/or entertain, keep company with her son, whilst she went wining and dining with her boyfriend. My husband said--absolutely NO WAY could he go. Luke came home sullen, depressed and angry today, from this friend;s house--he had a sleep-over, is quite upset--as because of this not allowing him to go--Helen, my friend, is just taking her son--no boyfriend--you see, she couldn't 'swing' taking her son and her boyfriend--she needed MY son to go along...I'm just disappointed my friend would do this...I know she's pissed off at me and my hub... With all the bad things that can happen... geez. I'm glad you aren't letting him go. I don't know how to do the group birthday reminders either. Isn't Shirley the one who does it? Not only that he went to the arcade alone. He was very very lucky that the person that he started watching playing one of the games was not a kidnapper or predator. The guy gave our grandson the tickets he won playing these games so Jarett could get a prize. We were LIVID to say the least.
