I don't have the answer, but just a question to add to this. How is L3908

different from 3914? Has anyone seen one being paid for over another?

,

I am assuming that your billing dept. does not have the updated HCPCS codes.

L3914 has been deleted and it says to use L3908 in place of it. L3908 is

described as " WHO, wrist extension control cock-up, nonmolded,prefabricated,

includes fitting and adjustment " . We use the L3908 code fairly often and as

long as we include an invoice with the charge, we get reimbursement. Even with

BCBS.

Try checking online with your DME carriers fee schedule. (You will not find

L3914 listed) The website you have referenced is not correct.

Hope this helps!

HCPCS codes

We are having a problem with BCBS and a few other insurance companies

not paying certain codes for splinting, specifically L3914, that out OT

is billing. I have a link that describes the code

(http://icd9cm.chrisendres.com/index.php?

action=search & srchtype=hcpc & srchtext=L3914), but BCBS is saying its

invalid.

Have the all these L-codes been changed? (This link has many L-codes on

it.) http://icd9cm.chrisendres.com/index.php?

srchtype=hcpcs & srchtext=wrist+cock+up+splint & Submit=Search & action=search

If they haven't changed, do they require a specific modifier so that

BCBS will recognize the code?

Thank you all, in advance, for your comments.

Hi Amy,

I just posted a reply to re: HCPCS codes. But to answer your question

as well, L3914 has beed replaced by L3908. There is no longer a code of L3914.
