Guest guest
My dtr's first car is my in-laws they gave to her last summer--it is a '96Buick Regal--not too bad, I think the shocks are shot though..Gee, my first car was something like a '72...man I can't recall..all I know is, it was my brother's then mine--oh yeah, it was a Chevy Nova, brown...and the first year I had it, forgot to put antifreeze in it and burst the engine block! ha--guess you could call me a bit of a block-head! Lord knows how many cars I've had since...all over 12 to 15 yrs old...However, the Kia Sedona we got was a 2005--first new car we ever got...we'll be paying that off for awhile....My tests went ok, Bill, but I'm real beat, sleepy, so I'm off for a nap now. blessings, kate another day of testing... Good Morning Group! Well, my 18 yr old dtr is not too thrilled with me, as I needed her to take to her baby-sitting job, our 7 yr old, . I have the remainder of the neuro-psych testing from 10am til 2pm, and my hub is of course working (til midnight) and my next older daughter is away 1 wk at camp at Sturbridge Villae, MA. So, Kara was the logical choice. I paid her $20 to take him with her, and will pick him up right after the testing is done. My brother had a friend pop over at the pool party/reunion we went to this wk end, and he was a foot dr. He was kind enough, on his way out, to look quickly at my swollen foot (still swollen going on 6 wks!) and announce--that's a stress fracture. Any good dr. could have told you that! But ,duh, I forget what he said to do--I think wear a brace or soft cast ...or something...I'm gonna go look online and see what they say... Between the right swollen foot, this left foot of mine is giving me so much trouble, I almost feel like I could use a walker to get around with. For now, I'll just hobble with my cane. Hope you all are having a great day. Please stay cool! It is supposed to be brutal in the Northeast. It is 76 already at 8:40am; supposed to be going up to ,or past 90, and with the humidity being real high today, supposed to feel even hotter. Needless to say, I'm 'breaking out' my cooling vest today. love to all, kate

Guest guest
Ouch Kate, Do you have an ace bandage or something that you can wrap it in? It probably should be in a brace or something so it heals correctly or it will just give you more problems down the road. You shouldn't put any weight on it. As for your testing, I hope today goes well, or not well, whichever you are hoping for, LOL!!!! It is brutal here in central NY. We are at 90 here and it's almost 6 pm. It's humid too. Just stepping outside takes your breath away and you sweat automatically. It's a GROSS day. Hugs and feel better, Peggy > > Good Morning Group! Guest guest
Nonetheless, I DO miss Michigan, having been born there, and lived their until about age 10.5 years! I love it every time I go back to visit, too! Wistfully, n, born in Detroit, at Harper Hospital! --------- another day of testing... Good Morning Group! Guest guest
Kate, I'm sorry, I must have missed the message about you going on vacation. Where are you going? That's going to be a PITA to have that boot on and then they want you to use crutches too? What kind of vacation is that? Not that you would want to but maybe they could get you a wheelchair? It would be easier to move around with. I don't remember if I've ever had any stress fractures or not. I did break my right arm when I was a little girl. Both bones, it looked hideous, it was deformed into a V shape. YUCK!!! I have noticed that since the dx of MS that my bones crack more. Is it the MS or just the fact that I'm getting older? Don't know. I'm going away myself with my sisters, daughter, and nieces for the weekend to Canada. We are leaving early Friday morning and coming home on Sunday night. I'm hoping the weather will be kind to me. I hope you are feeling better soon and enjoy your vacation. Hugs, Peggy > > > Re: another day of testing... > > > Thanks Peggy~Nice to hear back from you. Yeah, I have since I came back, put on this huge, cumbersome 'boot' which makes me real hot--however, it does take the pressure off the foot. I had called the orthopedic fellow that saw me at the end of May--this thing has been ongoing for nearly 6 wks now. All he said at the time was, might probably be a sprain--and HE gave me the boot. I used it, I didn't use it--vasilated back and forth, as there was thought from other docs that it might be vascular. When this foot dr. looked at it real quick and announced rather sure of himself--that is a stress fracture...I got really confused. However, did speak with the ortho fellow and he agreed and said, yes, first time around, more than likely a stress fx won't show up on an x-ray--AND he reminded me, I was supposed to go back in and see him June 5--I have no recollection of this at all...he's too booked to see me before I go on vacation, but he said to stay off it, use the 'boot' and crutches--which I don't have--just have the cane. I/m curious to know if anyone here has ever gotten one of these stress fx's. Wondering how much could have been caused by MS other leg, putting too much stress and pressure on this foot--or if I was too 'gang-busters' using my new treadmill...dunno. Just wish it would go away! It is brutal here--it is 92 here...the humidity is awful. We don't have central air. My dtr. turned off the only air downstairs saying she was too cold. I just raised my voice and said--put on a sweater--mom's hot--put the AC back on. I'm stupidly cooking ground turkey with tomato/garlic sauce to put over pasta--when I cook THAT! Stupid, stupid...too darn hot to cook. Don't know WHAT I was thinking. Hope everyone has a cool night--I bought lots of fresh mango and strawberry ice pops for after dinner! love to all ,kate > >
