Hi Mindy. No I don't have diabetes. I just have MS. But I never had quite the level of pain that I'm having lately. Thanks for your advice. Ok, so more than likely just the fun aspect of MS striking! blessings and love, kate~ :o)

Re: pain

Do you have neuropathy? My guess is that it's MS simply because I have foot pain and spasms and they are killer sometimes. But if you are diabetic and neuropathy is an issue...you should have it checked out.Mindy>> I'm confused about this intense burning/stabbing pain in my left foot/toe. I've had it periodically, but it is constant now. Is it MS related? I hear about peripheral neuropathy--and wonder if this is the pain of MS or PN? It really, really hurts. I'm wondering also, if the Tegretol I'm taking for my trigeminal neuralgia pain, will 'cover' this pain in my foot? I hope this pain stops--I have alot to do, and it is interferring with my chores...love to all, kate>

I have diabetes and trouble with my feet. I wish they would make an insulin that was generic it would save diabetics a lot of money.

Bill, My husband has juvenile diabetes from the age of 4. So does his daughter at the age of 7 and she is now 12. He suffers from Neuropathy really bad. I just ordered his insulin from the mail order pharmacy and with the best insurance there is out there it still cost us $150.00. It's unbelievable. That doesn't include the insulin for our daughter either. It used to cost us just the brand name price of $20 each prescription. Now bcs it's considered not on the formulary chart for the generic price of $10.00 or Brand Name $20.00 they charge us way more. We are both on medications that do not fit in this catagory and I am considering going off the medications that costs us so much. I feel so bad for the people that do not have the good insurance but even with that it's just getting too much for us too. I really relate to you and I hope you feel better. Have you tried Lyrica

(although it costs alot too). I am on that and so is my husband Bob. That's one of the meds I am considering stopping. Best wishes, :)MS-Bill wrote: I have diabetes and trouble with my feet. I did a search for generic insulin and this was probably the best I found. I wish something would be done but I doubt it.

Hey Sharon~Thanks for this info. I tend to believe this is MS-related, but wouldn't nerve conduction tests prove that--? or..guess I'm just conflused again as per usual

Well..I'm back from the 4 hr ordeal, it wasn't as bad this time, however I still feel like I was hit by a mack truck--so turned on the AC in my bedroom, closed my door to get it 'frosty', and after I check emails, will do a swan dive into bed for a good nap!

I have a question, specifically for you, and anyone else out there that this has been suggested for. The neuropsych doc feels she may make a recommendation for me to get a sleep study done. She said some folks with MS do have a problem with sleep, and there are treatment options out there to help get a better, fuller night's sleep. I think I sleep ok, but do know I snore, have been for a few years now, but thought it was just meds I was taking...although most of them I'm not on anymore. So--she will do all the tabulating and whatnot with the 8 hr total test time, and have an 11-14 page report ready for me in 6-8 wks time. She'll have me come into the office; give me the report, have me read it in the waiting room, and then be ready to answer questions I might have, or recommendations, etc. Sorry, blabbing on, as usual! love to all, kate

Kate~

I few years back, I too started snoring. When I went to the neuro., he ran some tests, and found that I have sleep apnia(sp). The insomnia is bad enough, but because I snore when I do finally get to sleep, it wakes me up several times during the night. Now, that I'm no longer on meds. (another story...), I know it's not them that are causing the apnia(sp). I'm kind of thinking, in my case, that it may be due to all the weight I'm caring around. And being a little top heavy, I'm sure doesn't help. I have an appointment coming up in Aug., I'll be asking about it then.

God bless and have a wonderful day...Val

Kate:The nerve conduction test showed there was no problem with the way my nerves conducted the impulses. So there is nothing wrong with my legs. The problem is in my brain from the MS or else is a hidden lesion in my spine, so says the doc. As far as the sleep study goes I don't know about MSers being more prone to sleep problems. I wonder? My Internist did want me to go for a sleep study but I haven't done it yet. Sharon This email is a natural hand made product.
