Guest guest
Dear Group, It has been a crazy two weeks for me. MS is acting up more than usual, I have been trying to get someone to help me get some stuff done [such as getting my sewing machine out] so guess what no one comes around. I have four fingers tips that are real numb, well one is the whole finger, vision problems, the legs giving out, can't walk right and bad brain fog. I have these things all the time but this time it is more than usual and all this while trying to sew the neck and wrist coolers; and a large order of the creams and lotions I make. An example of the brain fog: I was making about the fourth neck cooler and had turned one end of it and for the life of me could not figure out why I could not get the point to finish turning. It was far to thick to get the needle through. After about ten minutes of trying to figure this out [seemed like an hour] I was ready to give up. Then it dawned on me; I had not cut the excess material off. I dug my machine out myself and then I could not find all the things I use when sewing, like my iron, pins and cusion, extra sewing machine needles [as the one in it was broken], etc. Still have not found them. I had a wonderful complete setup at one time, and I want it back. I did find a box of material that is mostly long strips which I am using for these cooling devices. I do have a ton of fabric but a lot of it was taken to the other house. I need to go get all the things that were taken there and set up my "playhouse" in 's shop; but it was nice to have it already out of the way when I set up that room as Sheri's boys bedroom while she was staying here. I do think I will leave the sewing room up stairs but take the rest of the crafts to the playhouse. came by this evening and we had a nice visit as he did not have to rush out. He brought me a large carrot cake and we had cake and coffee. He worked this weekend and made almost $200 and was given 4 cakes and was fed. Hey if any of you girls are in the market for a sweet, goodlooking, hard worker he is available. He will turn 42 in August. Well, I really should get myself a dish of ice cream and watch an hour or so of tv and try to get to sleep before four o'clock. Happy birthday Cassy!!!!! Welcome all new members. Guest guest
Dear Lynn: I am SO sorry to hear of your current flare-up of symptoms. Maybe you should call the doc and at least get a round of oral steroids? It sure did help me in April when I had that flare up. Don't you just hate that horrible spacey feeling? I forget so much and is always saying "Mom, I told you". I like to think he didn't really tell me, you know? I always tell him he didn't tell me and tell him he has a bad memory. LOL Then he just looks at me all with his eyebrow raised. I like the name for your craft room--The Playhouse! You do need someone to help you. Which family members live in town? The girlfriend I went to lunch will yesterday was born in your area. She's from Markleville over in the southeast corner of Indiana, close to Pendleton. Isn't that near you? I know I've heard her talk about Greensburg and Shelbyville. Can Patience come and help you? I know she's a long way from you. Does she know about your current problems? love Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Hi Lynn do you think this heat we have been having lately might be getting to you? I took over to my parents home so he could spend the week there. My parents did not have the AC on. Mom asked me to work with her computer it is in the corner of the room and in her house you feel like you are in a box in that corner. It didn't take long for me to say goodbye. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Bill Just Rattlling Dear Group, It has been a crazy two weeks for me. Guest guest
What a blessing, Bill, that you have your parents, and they must be young enough to deal with having a grandchild over for an entire wk. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with my kids--my MS feels so much worse lately--I keep having these episodes that my left leg keeps going out on me, just a matter of time that I don't catch myself, and actually hit the floor! My folks are in PA now, about 2 and a half hrs from us; in Assisted Living, and my mom will be 83 this Sat. coming, and my dad just had his 84th B-day. Hey Lynn, so sorry you have stuff acting up--I can relate! I took my mom's cool old sewing machine from the house--as we have to have it emptied--I haven't sewed/sewn for yrs. so not sure I'm gonna be able to give myself a refresher course or not--but it feels good to have her machine in my house. I put it in my dining room--it looks cozy there. Have housework to do, probably should put my cooling vest on first. It's 84 here and quite humid. love to all, kate Just Rattlling Dear Group, It has been a crazy two weeks for me. Guest guest
Lynn~ Nice to see you post! I understand what you mean. I'm thinking that this time of year...especially this year, is very hard on most of us with MS. It's been bothering me a little more also. Maybe it's because we didn't really have a winter this year It was more like a really long fall going straight into summer. In any event, we've had to deal with more than our share of humidity. I swear, they really need to rename our village, Slugsville. That's what I feel like most of the time. I really miss sewing. I don't know how you still manage to do it. Your vision must still be pretty good. I can't even thread a needle, not even with one of those threaders. That was really sweet of to bring you a carrot cake, then spend some time with you. Sounds like you enjoyed the visit. If I wasn't taken already, I might be interested in getting to know him, myself. Hope you slept well. God bless...Val Just Rattlling Dear Group, It has been a crazy two weeks for me. Guest guest
Thanks for the prayers, nne. Cassy, you are welcome. Birthdays are important and I am glad your family came to celebrate it with you. Yes if it gets worse I will contact the dr. Sharon, I thank you for starting this group everyday. I am one of the fortunate ones who has minor problems and sometimes think I do not belong here where so many are a lot worse than I. However I still know that I would be lost without all of you. I left out a lot of the stressors of this time period so since most of them are taken care of I am sure that I will get back to my summer "normal" soon. The creating of these creations of mine was my salvation for getting over it as I love doing it. My finger has been bothering me for months now and I think it is trying to come out of it. You know not just there any more but actually is sore to the touch. I think I have figured this one out. I am thinking I damaged the nerve while trying to get the air out of a jar of cream. The jar hits the right places. If I get worse I will go to the dr. I will give it a week to improve and if not I will call. I do have a regular appointment in July. The closest of my birth children is 20 miles from me. 's children seldom even talk to me except for and Jr. does side jobs to make enough extra money to support his family of six. Jr talks good support but is either sick or forgets. Yes Patience would come to help if I ask but...... She is due here in a month and I may ask if would like to stay for a couple of weeks. He was a big help last year. I do intend to send her a copy of the email and maybe this one. I have two sisters that live within ten miles of here, but Nora is always "sick". I do not think I have seen here do much of anything for years now. Sylvia babysits, but she and Charlie come over and do my yard work regularly. I have been to Markleville before and yes it is not all that far. I do most of my shopping in Greenfield, which is about six miles from me and I go to Shelbyville sometimes and it is about 14 miles away. I do not remember having ever stopped in Greensburg but it is a lovely town. They are the town with a tree growing on top of the courthouse. Guest guest
My wife Judy her mother is in her early 80's and I am surprise she is still doing OK. We have seen a lot of changes in her this past year. We have a 2 story home and she can not make it up the stairs any more. Judy's dad is in a nursing home with Alzheimers. I am not looking forward to anyone of them dieing. My parents stay in Florida during the winter time and come back to Indiana until around Thanksgiving time. We celebrate both our Thanksgiving and Christmas all at the same time. After the holiday I rarely see my brother and sister until mom and dad get back again. could not wait until his grandma got back. Mom has several grand kids now so they take their turn spending the nights at there home. Mom say's one child at a time only. We have a family reunion coming up in your state. We went to the last one in 1998. I had no idea what MS was at that time. Here is our family web page giving more info. 310-year reunion planned for July 2008 We don't plan to attend this one. If I was still healthy we would be there. It is very warm here also, I havebeen out sitting for a while a few times but have never lasted out long. Do you have some kind of birthday celebration planned for your mother? Keep cool that may help a lot. Bill Just Rattlling Dear Group, It has been a crazy two weeks for me.
