Kate. That is beyond sad. Did the baby end up being ok?

Or having long term problems? What a horrible disease

to have.I once watched a show were the mom had this

and her baby would stop breathing, they always were

goin the hospital. Well, the dad didnt have a clue the

baby had to be revived many many times. The mom acted

to scared and like she didnt have a clue. The dad and

nurses and docs had finally realized everytime it

happened the mom was in the room, alone with the

baby. The dad got suspicious and talked to the staff

and put a video monitor in the room, they discovered

the mom was smothering the baby! The dad was

devastated and the mom went to jail and the baby was

fine.It has been so long since I seen this I dont

remember were it was just that it is a very sad

memory. It may have been ER or TLC or Discovery

channel.Cant remember if it was a re-inactment or a

drama show.But its sad,that stuff really happens.I

cannot even comprehend the devastating effects of this

disease.

lots of luv,cassy

Health Agency in personnel placing attendants, RN's,

LPN's etc on temp assignments in nursing homes,

hospitals, and private homes. There once was a case of

a mom, who had a new baby. The baby was quite ill, and

couldn't seem to keep anything down/in. An astute

pediatric gastroenterologist finally surmised that the

mom kept giving this poor newborn laxatives. It was a

horrible case, as we had nurses around the clock in a

hosp. setting--and it became more to protect the baby

from the mom. In this mom's case, she was terrified of

not being able to take care of her baby--so she

sabotaged the poor wee one, so that the baby could be

cared for in a safe setting--i.e. in the hospital. It

is a very sad affliction, but it is emotionally

disturbed folk who instigate this. blessings, all,
