Guest guest
Wondering if anyone from the group can help out? I am currently at a 600+ bed acute care facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Obviously, in rehab we would like to see an increased activity level/plan in a lot of our patients. Currently, our therapists were brainstroming about proposing to administration the idea of an " Ambulation Team " in the hospital to promote increased activity. Our rehab team would ideally see this team operating from a tranport or nursing dept. Wondering if anyone has such a team in place? Benefits? Cost savings? Effect on length of stay? I have not found any established programs in the literature, but rather good support for early mobility with hospitalization. Any input would be great. Please feel free to email or call directly, too. Snyder, MS, PT IP Manager, Acute Rehab Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center Milwaukee, Wisconsin linda.snyder@...
