Guest guest
Our therapists document when they enter the room, and when they exit the room on each patient. They then break down the number of minutes by CPT code. For instance, a patient was treated from 8:00 - 9:00 AM. 30 minutes was gait training, 30 minutes ther. ex. We have a grid on our daily documentation for all of this. They enter their time. This also guides their charging. We have found that it helps us be more accountable for what we charge. If there is a question with a bill, we have very good documentation to support it. If there is not good documentation, we have to credit the charge. We also do not have electronic documentation yet. Our detail oriented therapists do very well with this. Our non-detailed oriented therapists have had to work very hard to keep up with this, but they are getting it. Nobody is perfect, and mistakes do happen. Robyn Holland, PT, GCS, Acute Care Therapy Manager
