Guest guest
Hello group! Just want to know from others who see Medicare patients for Urinary Incontinence what they use for ICD-9 code? I use UI ICD-9, but Medicare will not reimburse any other procedure except Electrical Stimulation. Thank you in advance for your help. Have a wonderful and Prosperous New Year to everyone! Guest guest
Rhoda, It is not Medicare that will not reimburse you; it is Wisconsin Physician Services (WPS) who is your Medicare r that you submit your claims to. They link ICD-9 codes to each CPT code for medical necessity. I have attached the WPS PT LCD for you. http://www.wpsic.com/medicare/policies/wisconsin/physmed009.pdf Rick Gawenda, PT HPA Government Affairs & Practice Committee --- rhodapt wrote: > > Hello group! > > Just want to know from others who see Medicare > patients for Urinary > Incontinence what they use for ICD-9 code? Guest guest
Rhoda, Thanks for the feedback on the ICD-9 codes that you use for UI: pelvic muscle wasting (618.83), as well as muscle weakness (728.87). Here in Tulsa, OK, our intermediary is BC/BS. Are there any other providers who have blue cross as a Medicare intermediary who have had success with these codes? I've found that there is so much difference from one intermediary to another. Thanks to anyone who can help me with this.
