Hi Group;

My facility has been a PTOS user since 1986. We utilize it for billing and have

added thru them Spectra for scheduling and purchased Redoc for documentation,

although we do not have it running, due to concerns that we have with PTOS, not

Redoc. We have not changed softwares despite a number of issues with PTOS , not

because we love PTOS but because we are afraid of the unknown.

We think that PTOS has stayed behind the times and we have had in the past a

number of problems with interfacing it with the scheduling program (which we

purchased thru PTOS recommendation), as well as problems with UB92 billing,

which caused our facility a major cash flow problem, since unbilled charges were

not being picked up by the software. The biggest shock was that when we informed

PTOS, their technical assistance dept told us that they knew about the problem,

however, no one bothered to be proactive and inform the users such as us, which

pay them for annual support. I am now reviewing our billings, as I think that

there has also been a problem picking up unbilled charges for other types of

billings than UB92.

I would love to find a new software, now there are so many programs out there,

however, I need to think of the cost involved since I also have invested $$ into

the scheduling and the documentation program, and in today's ever decreasing

reimbursement environment we need to be very conservative with our financial

resources.

We are an outpatient facility in Bergen County, New Jersey, with a large

Medicare population. We bill UB92s to Riverbend Medicare in Tenn. We bill

electronically for Medicare, in house, which is not too bad of a process,

however, inputting the EOB's to record the payment and process secondary billing

is very time consuming and resources intensive. PTOS has now come up with an EOB

reader, which their are selling for app. $1,300.00 which is supposed to work

with medicaer and other major payers if the EOB is in the proper format. They

however, do not have a trial version, if you buy it, you can not return i

I am wondering if there is anyone out there who has purchased it and it is using

it. I would really appreciate some feedback. Or if someone is using a like

product???

We are also planning on going electronic for our non Medicare billing. If any

PTOS users outthere are using any specific clearing house, etc, which works well

with PTOS, and can share some information, would be great.

We use ENS as a clearing house for our electronic billing. It took some

time to get this setup with PTOS but we have not had any problems.
