There are a few companies that do electronic patient statements. All you do

is upload a statement file just like you would a billing file. Two

companies I can think of are Bill Flash and POS Professional Office Solutions.

Also

if you use ENS as your clearinghouse for billing claims, they also do

statements. You could also check with whatever clearinghouse you use. The

cost is

really a savings when you think of your paper, envelope, return envelope,

toner/ink, and most importantly your time. Its well worth it to outsource

statements. Here are some websites, good luck.

Since things tend to fall off the radar screen, I thought I'd just throw out

this friendly HIPAA reminder. If you are using an outside billing service, make

sure you get a business associate agreement.

Subject: patient billing

Hello all-

I am swamped every month with patient statements. It seems that electronic

billing has made paper claims minimal, but the patients statements are

overwhelming. Do any of you have any knowledge of services that we can have

send out our patients copay billings statements? Ideally, it would be nice to

have the situation that mimicked E-billing (send the electronic file to the

vendor, they generate all the stuff, etc...)

Thanks

PS Jim Hall, I hope all went well this weekend!

We use a Service through Advantage Software and WebMD. We send a electronic

file of our statements that our Software creates then WebMd prints and mails the

statement to our clients. It's kind of like electronic billing for Patients.
