Guest guest
We can discuss universal health care but let's don't get into the politics of it--okay? Politics and religion discussions can create hard feelings as we all know. :)Sharon Is this off limits to discuss??? Sharon, let me know if this is taboo, as I know we have a no politics rule. I'm curious, since this will affect us all, especially since we are ill. I'm wondering what everyone thinks about candidate Obama and his Universal Health Care plan? This could help a lot of people on this list. Be a better Heartthrob. Get better relationship answers from someone who knows.Yahoo! Answers - Check it out. Guest guest
Health Care public policy affects all of us wMS and other chronic condi tions. It is important for all of us to support any candidate whose pro posed program, in our individual opinion, would help people wMS. Love to you all, n Rojas5915@... Is this off limits to discuss??? Guest guest
Trista~ I'm with you on this one. It would be nice if what he is proposing, is actually what would happen. But, I'm not totally convinced. Not real sure which ancestors I got this from, but I don't believe anything I see, and only half of what I hear. GBU...Val Is this off limits to discuss??? Guest guest
I'm in Massachusetts and we have Universal Health Care beginning July 1. The only problem is if you don't qualify at your job or for MassHealth (the state health care) then you HAVE to pay for your own policy. If you don't have health care, the state will take it out of your tax refund. Doesn't sound like a great policy to me. Luckily my husband has insurance thru his job.Suetabeloe36 wrote: Sharon, let me know if this is taboo, as I know we have a no politicsrule. Guest guest
If you're retired you're probably on medicare. I haven't looked too far into it, but if you're already living paycheck to paycheck, how can you afford to pay for health insurance? There were a couple of years that Bill didn't get a raise, but the health insurance went up, so he ended up making less the next year. Guest guest
If your joint income is under $3,000.00, you should be able to get SSI; if you have SSDI, the SSI can be added to it, if it does not take your joint income over that amount. Been there, done that. Do NOT give up! Love, n Rojas5915@... Re: Is this off limits to discuss??? I'm in Massachusetts and we have Universal Health Care beginning July 1. Guest guest
We were told that since Chuck retired at 62 we are not eligible. He even went to a site somewhere and it says the same thing. I sure wish there was something to help esp. now that he has the diabetes on top of possible MS. Guest guest
Chuck is on Medicare. I am only 61 :-( He doesn't have to pay the premium because of such a low income. There is no way we can afford any kind of health ins for me. Guest guest
If he is talking about socialization of healthcare, it will actually make it worse. People whe live in Canada at times have a 6 montth waiting period just to get routine mammo. There is no such thing as an emergendy MRI, the waiting list is too long. /tabeloe36 wrote: Sharon, let me know if this is taboo, as I know we have a no politicsrule.
