The Results Are In Hi Everyone, I just got back from my doctor and my labs and MRI are normal. However my doctor is very concerned so I now have to go to a neurologist. I'm still not doing any better. As soon as I get out in the heat my legs go weak and I get very loopy. I feel like a bobblehead. My doctor had put me on disability for at least a month so I can just rest and keep my strength up so I can even get out to go to my dr's appointments. Anyway, thanks for being here and god bless everyone! Mickie
Guest guest
My MRI of the brain was normal, so they kinda just "sent me away". They think it's all in my head. lol. Anyone who feels this way, KNOWS it's real, and not a psych issue. There are people here, who had clear MRI's for years. Just take care of you, as best you can. Guest guest
Mickie, I'm still in the stages of being diagnosed, my MRI's show a spot on my brain, but don't show progressive lesions, I've had 3 MRI's in the past year. Both my family Dr, and Neuro are 99% sure it's MS but the Mri's don't prove it. Now I'm being checked for Diabetes because of my added symptoms, should know tomorrow. Not knowing what's wrong is stressful, the heat bothers me also. I'll keep you in my prayers. Blessings ChuckMickie wrote: Hi Everyone, I just got back from my doctor and my labs and MRI are normal. Guest guest
The neurologist I am going to is also my mom's neurologist. When she was in nurses training many moons ago in St. Louis this doctor was at the same hospital, kinda weird huh. He is very good and will do everything he can to find out whats going on with me. So that makes me feel better. My doctor is very alarmed at me symptoms and is making sure I get the best of care. My blood sugar is 91 and im not anemic, which I already knew. Everything is normal with my bloodwork. I am so glad I have you all here to talk to. My family has alot going on in their lives also. My mom is going through a nasty divorce, my daughter just had a new baby, and my 2 boys are busy with work and their future plans. The only 1 I have around me is my hubby when he is home. So my only outlet is to chat online or to play with my feathered and furry kids. So thanks again for being here. I luv you all lots!!! Guest guest
Hi Chuck what makes you feel like you may have diabetes? I was diagnosed with my type 1 diabetes in 1993 and then my MS in Aug of 99. I don't have much trouble with my diabetes except my feet are very sensitive and rarely walk bare footed. My feet are so sensitive when I walk on gravel I can feel everything I am walking on. I get off balance by the simplest things I walk on. I also have to wear flat shoes to help out. Also since I use a walker because of my MS going up and down ramps are very hard to do. If you do have diabetes most likely at your age it will be type 2. Guest guest
Mickie I have always called heat my biggest MS curse. I hate that because I love getting out as much as I can, especially when it is warm. Heat will also mess with your eye's two summers ago I had double vision and it lasted for about 9 months. My doc gave me steroid treatments but I am not sure they helped me at all. I think it cleared up by its self. I rarely leave home so I enjoy this group to still have a way to socialize with people. When my MS hit me I worked 55 miles from my home so it did not take long to loose contact with those people. Shirley lives really close to where I use to work at. Guest guest
Hi Bill, I've been drinking water etc., to excess, it seems that I can't get enough. Then I urinate every few minutes plus I crave sweets which I never did before. Now I have started losing weight, plus I have no ambition. Waiting for the Dr. to call with my test results, if I do have it I have a bunch of prescriptions to fill. I will keep you updated. Guest guest
Loosing the weight is always the tough part. Since I use a walker me working out is a little tough to do. We have a 2 story house and have found just sitting on the stairsteps and going up and down them in a sitting position gives me good exercise. Guest guest
Not being able to walk is what I hate about my MS the most. We just got a new dog and would enjoy walking her around the block.
