Guest guest
3 migraines a week??? That stinks!!! I get only the one on my shot day. Mine is a migraine at that time. The light, noise, and movement bothers me. If it goes on too long I end up sick to my stomach. The rest of the week mine are just regular dull headaches. I take Advil, because Tylenol can cause liver damage and so can the Avonex. It doesn't help but what can you do? I'm so sick of pills, pills, pills. I hope they find something better for you. Guest guest
Traci~ I don't know about the others here, but I do know that migraines are a part of life with me. And yes, I know what it's like to have an average of 3 migraines a week. I don't know what to tell you to do about them, though. I keep my house relatively dark, and the noise down. And for sure, stay out of the heat. Lights, noise, and being too hot are all triggers for migraines. I also try to stay as calm as possible. Topamax does work for me. I just don't care for it. It leaves a very nasty taste in my mouth. And ughhh! The way it makes food and drinks taste is beyond nasty! Since I have basically dealt with headaches my whole entire adult life, I don't know if it is MS related or not. Blessed be....Val RE: Peggy - Topamax Yes, I was only taking it at night, but was still having symptoms all throughout the day, so wasn't sure if it was the Topamax side-effects then too or not. For me, I have migraines so frequently and the Imitrex I take can cause heart attack or stroke, thus why the prevenative meds; but none of the others preventative meds have worked for me. I *can* get up to three migraines per week, and rarely have a week go by without at least one migraine. I'm curious - is there a strong connection between migraines and MS? Or is the headaches you all get not true migraines but another type of headache?
