, we have mostly ortho and neuro, lots of strokes, but some SCI as well.

Our unit is 21 beds; we have 3 OT/PT or COTA/PTA teams so the ratio is a max of

7 patients for 1 therapist. One full time speech therapist who stays busy. She

has no limit; just manages her own caseload. Being a rural hospital, there is

no PRN coverage. We don't worry so much about productivity/units. If we're

low-census, people take off or float to med/surg or SNF or OP. If we are full,

we just work harder and stay late when necessary.

Staffin Ratios for inpatient rehab

Group,

Is anyone willing to share their staffing ratios for inpatient rehab? Looking

for how many patients for each PT, OT, and ST--not just the number of units. I

know it will vary a lot with different populations so if you could include

ratios by diagnosis (SCI, Brain Injury, General/Ortho) it would be much

appreciated.

Thanks,
