Guest guest
Our son cannot tolerate a 24 hour EEG. We gained valuable info from our Spect. We found out that our son has been having Seizures that have been left untreated until now. We chalked up his challenging behaviors to gut dysbiosis, anxiety, headaches, etc when they were likely partial seizures. We had it done at Lifebridge Diagnostics in Florida. www.lifebridgediagnostics.com Tech starts an IV and a radioactive isotope is injected. Then child is placed under the three rotating cameras. The trick is that the child must lay absolutely still for this. About 20 minutes. Sedation was the biggest issue we had. We were able to give our son a big hit of Ativan and got the pictures. Our son woke up fine afterwards. No referral needed. Cost is $1500 upfront at Lifebridge. We have submitted to insurance and are waiting back to see what they will cover. Where did you go? How long did the procedure last? How did your child react to the procedure? Did you need a referral from a doctor to get the scan? Did insurance cover? Thanks!
