Guest guest
We have an expectation of 24 billable units per day. Because we cover several different units on 3 different floors and often get tied up in nonbillable activities, such as physician and nuring communication, the acute therapists realisticly acheive 20-22 billable units per 8-hour day. Guest guest
Our target is 19.5. 65% productivity for 7.5 hours (8 hours - 2 15 minute breaks = 7.5). My therapists do not have trouble hitting this, my assistants do. Kathy berger, P.T. Guest guest
We expect all our therapists to have @ least 80% productivity which is equivalent to 24-26 units out of 8 hours work. Guest guest
I would love some ideas on how facilities are meeting a goal of 24 BUOS a day and also have to: have 2-3 people to get the patient out of bed, AFTER you have checked for the 3rd time to see if he is ready (labs, xrays, dr. with, ...) attend a Rehab care conference or family/ d/c planing conference that lasts 1/2 hr minimum, document notes on 6 patients twice a day in Rehab Confer with the family, physician, orthotist, and the guy who is building the ramp so the patient can go home in a timely manner, etc., etc. And Rehab is more productive than acute care. I really would appreciate new ideas that have made a difference without negatively impacting quality of patient care. Guest guest
We sure can't. Our goal is 70% productivity of 7.5 hours of an 8 hour day or 21 units which is a stretch most days with the unproductive nature of Inpatient PT (talk w/family, nurse, doctor, hunt for chart, patient not ready etc.) Ann O'Donnell Director, Physical Medicine Department Methodist Charlton Medical Center 3500 Wheatland Road Dallas, Texas 75237 Office Fax Inpatient Acute Care PT Productivity Benchmark I have only heard from 2 people and would really appreciate more responses from people who work in Acute Care Facilities.
