Mark Schwall, P.T. did a fantastic job articulating a concern that many

physical therapists and licensing boards have. When one accepts the

privilege of holding a professional license in New Jersey, and most

other states, it precludes them from removing that hat and replacing it

with another that is not regulated. If a P.T. is providing any

intervention, then it has to be P.T. In providing P.T intervention you

must follow state rules and regulations, and documentation is needed and

required.

It is unfortunate that we have been made to look outside of our

profession for other sources of income due to poor insurance

reimbursement. Should we really roll over and succumb to these pressures

or should we fight for our patients to protect their right for

appropriate insurance coverage?
