Guest guest
Hey ~I remember the first time my neuro used the term, I felt, sorta "illigitimate" in a way....like, huh? pseudo? like fake? or false? There was nothing fake about the flare I went through at the time. But he helped me realize that pneumonia with a fever would trigger MS symptoms--and it wasn't 'active' MS... There's nothing worse like feeling misunderstood; so I'm glad you know, and we all know what one of these pseudo flares is all about. It's why we do need to keep ourselves as strong as healthy as can be. I appreciate your posting the definition for us. Hope you are feeling better dear ~blessings, kate> hi all,> I google-ed my new found term and found my doctor was right. Guest guest
I personally think the doc just wanted to be the first on the block to use the new neurologic term... Haven't we always called a flare-up a flare-up??? And I remember when my neuro looked at me like I was from another planet when I used the term "flare"... I stole their term though.. My running joke now is that gets psuedo-weekends off.. and of course people look at me like I'm from another planet as well... Everyone KNOWS the weekend is Saturday and Sunday.. but his pseudo-weekends are Sunday and Monday.. Well I suppose that after four years working where he does that he is finally getting TWO days off in a row, rather than this Sunday Tuesday or Sunday Wednesday crap.. But it figures.. we finally (and I did get to help.. cause the boss is also a friend) got two days off in a row (most weeks, unless there was a funeral on Sunday or something where he absolutely NEEDS to be there) only for me to go back to work.. and I now work on Monday.. his day off... We just can't seem to win sometimes... LOL |)onna pseudo-exacerbation hi all, I google-ed my new found term and found my doctor was right. I had suffered some over heating a couple of weeks ago and I also thought I had a UTI, since my urine was very dark. I always had confidence in my neuro, and I guess I was over reacting. Thanks for all your concern. I love this group Pseudo-Exacerbation - A temporary aggravation of disease symptoms, resulting from an elevation in body temperature or other stressor (ex. an infection, fatigue, heat, or constipation) , that disappears once the stressor is removed. A pseudo-exacerbation involves only pre-existing symptoms (flare-up), rather than new disease activity or progression.
