I will NEVER, take that one again; it really was Tyranosaurus

Rex, the dinosaur! I got home on the tablets and it became

obvious that I am really allergic to this stuff. I called

my relatives and found that seven of my close relatives are

also allergic to the stuff. Did I go to the ER? NO! I called

the poison control center, whose telephone number my pharmacy

puts on EVERY single prescription, and was advised to discon

tinue the medication. One neurologist at the hospital had

found ONE high reading on my phenobarbital for seizures medi

cation, and I have only been trying for thirty years to get

a neurologist to taper me off that one. I stopped it, too.

So far, so good, and of course, should I get an aura, I will

resume it, but am planning an attack on my new neurologist for

a change in medication, if that is even needed.

Drs. do not get it that one is on a medication because some

other alleged expert has prescribed it and NOT listened to my

bleating moans to have it tapered off, or replaced.

I will never miss it. And, cancel panic, I will call my inter

nist first thing Monday morning to update him and get his ad

vice. Asking for crossed fingers and toes on this one!

I have these nightmare visions of ending up in some crazy drug

rehabilitation program because no neurologist would taper me off

this lovely forbidden barbiturate, nor try a less " habituating " drug!

My own intuition and proprioception tell me, that all is going to

be just fine. . .after my internist recovers from the shock that I

am doing just fine without DECADRON. I expect that he will prescribe

Prednisone for the rest of the taper, and come up with a nice, benign

seizure med, should I need it. I am lucky; I get auras LOOOOOONG

before anything is about to happen.
