Guest guest
I've been challenged on this by a peer and need a reality check. Use of Aides for provision of (and billing for) physical therapy services is not allowed at any level of care - Acute, OP, Skilled, etc. I can find multiple references for this in OP manual and ed from our FI - but can't locate anything with respect to acute care hopital or CAH. State regs (VA) are nebulous. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Guest guest
Keep the billing system in mind. Acute care billing is based on diagnosis with some out-liars; also based on diagnosis. In my memory, there is no provision to modify billing for acute care, related to therapy intensity delivered. On the other hand; Part B, SNF care, and Home Health are based on units/minutes/visits of therapy. No billing… then no penalty imposed from Medicare. State regulations, individual insurance companies, liability could put a penalty which would drive a practice model. Steve Passmore PT Healthy Recruiting Tools HYPERLINK " mailto:spass@...
