rehab screenings in acute care

In acute care setting, how are other managers assigning task of

completing rehab " screens " (PT/OT/ST) ? Are they performed by both

therapists and therapist assistants ? And what is rationale/legal

consideration for which staff complete these pre-order requests to

screen pt. for possible need for therapy services ?

We presently have an automated system that generates request for rehab

disciplines to screen pt's based on response to questions in nursing

assessment/admit form. Only therapists (not assistants) complete the

screens in our hospital at pesent time, but we're considering extending

this assignment to assistants, Any info, guidelines, or reference

sources on this topic would be helpful. Thank you.
