Guest guest
Have you tried applying for SSi or SSDI? IF it weren't for me getting SSI we'd be on very "poor" shape indeed...and you can qualify even if you don't have the work credits. Robbin (my son) was approved immediately, I had to go through the appeal process, but got it within minutes of seeing the judge. Since you DO still have insurance, go to your Dr's and talk to them about getting a letter from them saying you cannot work and why. Document everything. When I saw the judge, even though I had sent in copious amounts of paperwork (Dr's letters and files and the like) the judge had seen NONE of it, didn't even know I *have* MS! I had all the originals with me (had sent in copies) and "passed" immediately. It is not "easy" but it IS possible and would ease the financial strain, as well as the medical one (you automatically get medicaid/medicare). You can still work, too, they just deduct according to your income, you can make a bit over $600 a month and not be affected at all...think about it. Akiba -- Talked To Head of MY Department HI All,Well I talked to the head of my department to see if they couldaccommidate me at my job. She was going to talk to my supervisor and getback to me later today. If not I can resign my position and can berehired later. However I just tried to do some dishes and I cant even stand long enoughto do that. I am shaking all over and very weak after about 5 minutes. So maybe it is best I resign till I can return to work and do my job. Icant believe this is happening to me. I'm healthy otherwise but I justcant seem to shake this crap.My husband said to me that I need to take care of me first and I want tothat but we cant afford for me to lose my job and ins. I feel like imletting him down and putting alot on him and I hate that.

Guest guest
Over heating can agitate your MS sometimes. They tell don't exercize so much you get over heated. With my having to use a walker I never have to worry about that much. This MS effect everyone different. When my MS hit me in Aug of 99 I was so new I was hoping it would all go away like a cold. I even told the guys I worked with this will probably get better after a few weeks. This MS made me a liar at that time. I still always wonder if a recovery is possible for me to walk normal again. My wife Judy her father is in a nursing home with alzheimers, he sometimes doesn't even remember my name. After seeing what he goes through with everyday I guess having this MS isn't all that bad. Guest guest
Sometimes when I do the dishes the hot dish water (and the steamy air) is enough to make me feel weak. If you don't have a stool to sit on then you should get one. Speaking of the insurance problem without the job -- I have no idea what your hubby makes or how many are in your house but have you thought of applying for Medicaid? It's worth a try. Good luck. Guest guest
Ok..you all make me want to havea fundraiser to buy everyone here a dishwasher!!! But seriously...even I have trouble with the dishwasher because I get the dizzies when I bend over. When we were planning the new kitchen, I made sure to work in pull out drawers and placed things where I didn't have to bend. mindy > > Sometimes when I do the dishes the hot dish water (and the steamy air) is enough to make me feel weak. Guest guest
I'm still "incognito" here but I have a feeling that won't last...and I think you'd be cute in pigtails! I wear them in summer sometimes, my hair is so thick it gets very hot and I'll piggytail it or bun it. Have a lovely day Akiba -- Re: Talked To Head of MY Department Wow. This is just a testimony on how different the disease is for everyone. Since most of my problems are cognitive (and not too physical), my outlook on the simple things "such as dishes" is so different. If I had to use a stool, I wouldn't be doing the dishes. It's because I have such a crazy case of ADD. Since my mind has been in rocket fuel/jet mode for the last year, if you put a stool in the kitchen it would confuddle me no matter what the purpose. I think if the Mind Police could radar my brain speed, I would have permenant speeding tickets. Zoom zoom ..somedays its like a bad shroom trip but it makes life interesting. I like watching my hubbies jaw drop in disbelief at some of the things I do. Ha.Oh and about the make-up....it's a small town thing. I am usally au natural at home (with pigtails, too) but since I sell beauty products for a living, I have to put on a public face. In a small town, it's insane how many people know who you are and what you do.Mindy-- In MSersLife , "n Rojas" wrote:>> Oh, Mickie!
