Guest guest
I was at the ped the other day for Marissa's every 6 month routine appt. We were finished and my 2 year old decided to go in the hall and lay on the floor. I was nursing the baby, so I figured I could see her, so it was OK. And at least this was a silent fit and not one of those really loud ones she likes to have. So since the door was open, I could hear the nurses talking. One said " What's the deal with this patient of Dr. M's? They got the first two hep b shots and then refused the rest of the series. " The second nurse says " We have a few like that. Who knows what gets into these peoples heads? Maybe they joined some sort of weirdo religious cult or something. " At which point *I* said very loudly " Or maybe they met someone who was f*****g vaccine injured, like MY daugher! " The first nurse turned her back to me, I'm sure because she was mortified. The second nurse hadn't heard me and continued babbling on about stupid people who don't vaccinate their kids. Now you have to understand that I am not normally like this. I am usually pretty at peace and OK with everyone's opinions. My husband even gave me a Chinese name that means quiet serenity. So where the heck did this come from? I never yell at anyone. It just flew out of my mouth. And for the next few hours I was so mad I could spit. I was shaking and everything. Obviously, Marissa is vaccine injured. We do not vaccinate her any longer and have not vaccinated our other children. Am I the only one who freaks out like this? TOTALLY out of character for me!! It will be interesting the next time we visit the doctor! Jen
