Well, I got my anual bladder infection and was given Cipro 500 mg 2

times a day. Took my first one yesterday morning and was scared to

death! The reason.....I was using Cipro (several doses) for various

infections (bronchitis, sinusitis, UTI) when I first started to burn

in May of 00. I was assured by ALL the doctors I have seen that the

Cirpo had nothing to do with it so when the doc gave me the Cipro

yesterday, I thought I would give it a try again.

Took the second pill last night and noticed about an hour later that

I had anal burning (outside the anal opening). At about 2 am I had to

put some aquaphor lotion on as my vulvar skin was ON FIRE. All the

outer areas where the hair is is burniing. Took another one this

morning and now I am flaming from front to back. It all looks normal

though.

So-----could my original yeast theory be correct? Do I have yeast in

my skin that is reactivated? I had been down to vulvar (inside lips)

burning about 3 times a week before this. I did some research and

found that Cipro can cause Subcutaneous yeast.

If I have Lichen Sclerosis--would antibiotics make this condition

worse? I have had several doctors say I don't have it but if it

isn't yeast then it could be LS.

I am thinking of seeing a dermatologist. I am just so embarassed

about my weight since doctors have been commenting on it lately. I

feel so self concious. I am about 100lbs overweight at this point.

The last 40 lbs are from my self pity I guess. But things were

getting so much better with the estrace dispite not having total

relief, as well as avoiding antibiotics (have only taken 1 dose of a

Z Pack so far this past year).

This sucks!! Could 3 pills bring on a yeast condition so fast???

Lamisil cream seemed to have given me relief earlier today but now it

is back again. Of course this happens on a holiday. If I stop the

Cipro my UTI will flare.
