Hi,

THank you Suzy, Kristy, and Lynn and everyone for their kind thoughts yesterday.

Unfortunately, I am even worse today. I only slept for a few hours due to the pain and BURNING that kept waking me up. I hate to do it, but I might have to call in sick tonight and then miss our holiday party at a nice hotel. I feel like the worse employee ever. I really don't know how this is going to affect my job performance review. I had to fall asleep with ice between my legs. Yes, Lynn, it is my entire vulvar area and burning is also coming internally (bladder? IC) I am worse than when I started on the medications. Thank you for the addresses. I am actually seeing Matia on Thursday for herbs and acupunture. Can you get worse after coming off meds??

I went to my pain mgmt dr yesterday and they suggested Duragesic. It is an opiod durg that is a patch. They want me to double check about its safety in pregnancy, but I am between obgyns. I really don't have a choice, but to go back on medication, I am in CONSTANT pain and crying continuously. I really HATE the thought of taking potent drugs while pregnant, but I can't function in this much pain.

Any advice? For those considering Elavil, I think it helped the burning very much. I think a dose of 20 mg would have made me almost pain free. Unfortunately, you can not take that med while pregnant.

I don't think opiods cause birth defects, but the baby might have to be weaned off. It is just TOO horrible to even think about. I feel like I should not even try to get pregnant if I have to take drugs, but what other choice do I have??

Thanks for listening. I really don't know what I would do without this group and its support. :)

Antidepressants cause a REBOUND affect. You can get worse just after

coming off until your body takes over. Most antidepressants require

a tapering off of meds---you take 1 less or skip a day for a week

then every 2 days etc to avoid rebound.
