Guest guest
Suzy, My fissures didn't always bleed. It was off and on. They got sore, would burn and I would get spasms. The spasms keep the fissures from healing. You can get fissures from these things as well: Lichen Sclerosis (because the skin won't stretch) Atrophy (if you have atrophic vaginitis you can have it anally as well) Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (the muscle is too tight all the time and spasms) Yeast (yeast causes the skin to thin and crack) Bacteria overgrowth (strep, etc). All the above can cause vulvar burning as well. For the atrophy/lichen you can put the estrace cream on the anal opening as well. What I do daily is: Bag Balm after my BM in the morning and then estrace before bed Bag Balm is in a square green can at the pharmacy/drug store. It is for cow udders to keep them soft and heal cracking and chaffing. It has a mild antifungal/antibacterial in a vaseline/lanolin base. I put some just inside the anal opening. You can buy finger cots or buy gloves and cut the fingers off so you have 3 times the amount of finger cots (the pinkie and thumb don't work well).
