Guest guest
Thanks! I will be shopping for this in the near future. The colace worked great - twice. Now it isnt working. Is it possible that Mike just doesnt need to have a BM every day? He didnt have one every day before his seizures and the diet but I am told that he has to have one every day now to eliminate things from the meds and to keep the diet working adn I have noticed that when he has a BM his seizures are less the next day. Actually since that BM things have been great for Mike - his seizures are way down for the time being. I am curious to see if they get worse the longer he goes between BM's. His neuro doesnt recognize constipation as a problem with seizures altho she does say that other parents have been noting the same thing to her. It says that one teaspoon contains 4.5 grams of carbs but its says on the jar , "The carbohydrate in this product is primarily non-digestible fiber, digestible carbohydrate is less than 1/2 gram per serving." Since we give lin 1/2 a teaspoon, he is getting less than 1/4 gram per serving so we do not figure it in. I asked our dietician about it and she said that was fine. It is healthy and the body does not become dependent on it. Plus it has no taste so we mix it into his keto kooler drink and he doesn't notice it. -- Kathy (Mom to lin, 3 1/2 years old, generalized idiopathic epilepsy) From: heppner1@... I have Mike on colace right now and it seems to be working well but I dont want to keep using it indefinitely. We also use suppositories but I dont want to use them long term either. Glad to help. This list is just awesome! Where else can you find a whole bunch of keto experts in one place? (I am far from an expert yet but I am sure learning alot from all of you!) Mike had this a few times til we got his stools softer. If that isnt the case then I dont really have any other idea what it could be. Should I take him to the dr and get him checked out? Any ideas of what might be going on? Thanks!
