In Chicago, on a VERY busy night, we will take in between 1,000 and 1,500 calls in a HALF HOUR period. During this same busy time, there are often hundreds of calls waiting to be given out to the squad cars...but there aren't any of them available, because they already have 5-10 jobs each.
