Guest guest
, Thanks for sharing this info. I'm glad Jess's drs checked her urine (if I remember right, it was you who noticed traces of blood on multistix) and found out about the calcium. I was giving Rohan cal/mag in a 1:1 ratio, even though the amounts were probably far too low. Guess the mag helped keeping the stones at bay. Because his dr. (who BTW is the supposed keto-expert in the UK!) was so insistent that 400mg of cal was sufficient, it was what Rohan got for most of the time. I should have known better. Anyway the endo was talking about the bone matrix being made of other substances (I didn't take it all in). He said the bone was perhaps not being layed down at the rate it is being resorped. I think it is something to do with being acidic on the diet, but Rohan has been on around 2.1-2.2 on the ratio for most of the time, which is lower than most others. I'll stop rambling now. Guest guest
My info says 800 mg for ages 1 - 10 although our dietican says from 9-12 its 1300mg. Anyway I think the 800mg is right for a four year old heppner1@... wrote: I know the correct ratio of cal/mag is 1:1 but what is the correct amount for a 4 yr old 40lb boy?
